LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has won the state's Republican gubernatorial primary and will face incumbent Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear in the November general election.

Cameron, a rising star in the party, came out on top in a crowded field of 12 Republican candidates that included former U.N. Ambassador Kelly Craft and Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles.

His campaign had the backing of former President Donald Trump in a contentious race that served as a proxy fight between the Republican presidential front-runner and a number of other Republican heavyweights, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who both backed Craft.

Don’t confuse tlozo with the facts during a good fact-disorted rant.

His head will explode!

With few exceptions like Walker, Trump just picks the one most likely to win, not the conservative. The doofus actually thinks they will support him when they get in office. They never do, they listen to McConnell or GOPe, iow, the ones who write the checks. He wouldn’t know a real conservative if it smacked him up aside his head. He doesn’t bother to take the time to understand the conservative position, he just shoots from the hip. Dawson will be a fine gov, but he won’t be MAGA.

I’d say Trump out did the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama era with Conservative positions.

That includes those solid conservatives of Bush,Dole,Bush,Dole,McCain,Romney R Presidential timber pre Trump.

If Andy Beshear (D) is re-elected can we stop following Trump’s candidate picks and realize he won’t win in 2024?

You can do whatever you want. Me? I’m supporting Trump - the candidate with the best chance of winning a fair election, and the only one worth voting for.

State Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R), who’s backed by former President Trump, is projected to win Kentucky’s GOP gubernatorial primary, according to The Associated Press.

Craft also won DeSantis’ endorsement Monday, offering an eleventh-hour shot in the arm and shaping up the race to be a minor proxy war between Trump and DeSantis, who are soon anticipated to clash in the Republican presidential primary.

I still perfect DeSantis, for now, but I love Cameron. He could go all the way.

Well, here’s a case where polling definitely did not reflect the actual vote* - though voter participation was VERY low, so not too many conclusions should be drawn.

Cameron was ahead throughout the race, but Craft was showing as within striking distance, at least as of a couple weeks ago she was making decent progress. Quarles was pretty far back and didn’t gain much, tho’ I am surprised he beat Craft ... (Again, that’s just from the polling a couple weeks out.)

Cameron will have a VERY tough time vs. Beshear. Beshear has been smart enough to be not way whacky liberal, has strong support of the teacher’s unions, and will be supported by most anybody with their hand out for state money.

DeSantis failed her, and more unfortunately, in Jacksonville. Not a stellar day for the challenger.

Daniel Cameron will beat Brassiere like a rented mule this fall.

“A big thank you to President Donald J. Trump for his support and his endorsement of this campaign,” Cameron said. “Let me just say, the Trump culture of winning is alive and well in Kentucky.”

“The new religion of the left casts doubt on the greatness of America,” Cameron said. “They embrace a picture of this country and this commonwealth that is rooted in division, that is hostile to faith and that is committed to the erosion of the education system.”

Cameron said Beshear is “resigned to live in a commonwealth where violent crime is high and the workforce participation rate is low.”

“I’m here to tell you tonight that a governor who will not speak out on these issues and who will not stand up for your interests has advocated his responsibility to the commonwealth and is not fit to lead it any longer,” Cameron said.

“Now Mr. Glass recently said that any teacher who expressed concerns about the gender ideology curriculum that’s making its way into our schools, then that teacher should find another job,” Cameron said. “Jason Glass said that those hard-working teachers got to find another job because they won’t buy into the far left’s ideology.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, that’s not the right answer,” Cameron added. “The right answer is that Jason Glass and Andy Beshear need to find another job and we will help them do that in November.”
