Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley received between $100,001 and $1 million for each of her dozen speaking engagements in 2022 and 2023, which means she made at least $1.2 million from speaking honorariums, her financial disclosure report shows.
Haley, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and former South Carolina governor, received payments for her speeches in Singapore, Australia and Canada, as well as for talks she gave across the U.S. in cities such as Chicago, New York and Dallas, according to her disclosure filed Monday. The speeches were for a variety of organizations such as the National Automobile Dealers Association and the Canadian Friends of Jerusalem College of Technology.
The speeches were all given before Haley entered the presidential race in February.

I still haven't heard their plan to bring the Trump supporters on-board with their choices.
Nikki Haley reminds me why I don’t need a laxative every time she speaks I run...
Why would anyone pay 10 cents to hear her speak about anything?
She is zero chance of national public office, not even eligible anyway. So good that she’s finding a way to make some money elsewhere.
Throwing bad money after bad. Is she polling at 1% yet?
Why does any organization pay any famous person to speak?

This is the standard pattern for Uniparty candidates: Resign your job about 5-6 years before the election so the MONEY can flow in from donors wanting a piece of the potential future POTUS. (e.g., fake book deals, Netflix, "Foundation" donations, speeches etc.)
This makes the candidate wealthy enough to withstand a couple of years of campaigning with no income.
Of course...they are owned.
Had to be money laundering. One would have to pay me a goodly sum to go here her speak.
“Why does any organization pay any famous person to speak?”
Several standard “party-line” public relations answers occur to me, but I realize none are fundamentally good answers.
Your question is a darn good one.
From the point of view of the recipient, the monies received are usually sizeable, out of proportion to the task “homoraria,” which additionally add a fake luster to the recipient. It is interesting to comtemplate what would happen to this “system,” if either the grantors stopped giving money beyond basic the speaker’s actual travel expenses. Universities and non-profits and sectarian organizations spend big buck government-source and donor source money this way. It’s easy to spend someone else’s money. Members and constituents should start complaining and withholding funds. The government would only withhold funds if a lot of speakers with the “wrong point of view” were paid to speak.
Typo is my post just before this. I’m not seeing straight. The word, of course, is “HONORARIA,” (singular: “HONORARIUM)
She’s been both an executive and international diplomat yet the misogynists don’t even believe she should cash in and be paid what the market is willing for her to speak.
You don’t want to vote for her, that’s fine. Can’t wait to see what would be said if she ran on Trump or DeSantis ticket. We already know the Dems find Republican women unacceptable just like they find non-white Republican’s unacceptable. Both are attacked as traitors to their kind.
She made more than 1.2 mil, the math does not compute...
Businesses throw money at a lot of candidates. This way no matter who wins they are beholden to the donors.
There! Fixed it!
Is this related to “book deals” that some people get?
The CrookedHillary gambit.
