Tuesday’s primary election in Pennsylvania will give Republican voters the opportunity to choose either a candidate for the state Supreme Court supported by the GOP establishment or one who briefly halted the certification of the state’s 2020 election results and has the backing of a key Donald Trump ally.

In the GOP primary, Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge Carolyn Carluccio is facing Commonwealth Court Judge Patricia McCullough.

Carluccio, meanwhile, has the backing of the state Republican Party, and a national GOP group that’s active in judicial elections, the Republican State Leadership Committee’s Judicial Fairness Initiative, which has weighed in with $600,000 in advertising to boost Carluccio. A recent ad touts Carluccio’s “unmatched experience” and “unquestioned integrity.”

Let me make it easy for everyone.
If the democrat wins it is a bellwether sign that the GOP is dead and everyone is liberal, if the republican’s wins the media will refuse mostly to talk about. Also, what little they say will be how it means nothing and the results are because of GOP voter suppression.

BEFORE you vote, look long and hard at Fetterman’s Ugly Face.
Choose the candidate who represents the EXACT OPPOSITE of that picture.
RINO, GOPe, Democrat ALL = Fetterman. Choose Wisely my friends.

Working the polls and turn out is very very light so far.
There is nothing exciting on this ballot so if the grass roots are informed about this and show up she will get the nomination

I have little faith that the electorate will choose the right person. In 2002 one or two members of the Florida Supreme Court that tried to erase the votes and give the election to Algore came up for a continue/remove vote. He/they were voted to continue by a vote of probably 90-10%. Sickening.
Thanks for this information! I’m voting this morning and would have voted for the establishment candidate in this race. I’ve been getting glossy campaign literature boosting her for weeks. Absolutely nothing for Patricia McCullough.

Some of the candidates for the local school board are real winners. One touts her background in DEI. She brags she’s a consultant hired to indoctrinate employees with this stuff. Another candidate is minoring in LGBTQ+ studies at the local university and is involved in a local organization to promote gay rights.
This information is revealed in their responses to questions the local League of Women Voters has posted online. I spent all last evening reading all of the candidates’ statements. It’s the only information I could find about them.
I doubt that low information voters are even aware of any of this. They’ll probably just vote for the whack jobs because they’re the only women running for the school board.
And Republicans here will vote for the R-establishment judge because her campaign literature has been filling our mailboxes for weeks. The Republican party in Pennsylvania is a dumpster fire and has been for years. They are a bunch of spineless wimps who play by Roberts Rules of Order against Democrats who come to the fight with knives and brass knuckles. No wonder we keep losing.
Very low turnout as expected so far.
Democrats turnout far higher in my district than R, far larger discrepancy than any election I have worked, about 2-1 D voters vs R voters, but not surprising…. As they have a contested county executive race that has had, relative to what it is, a lot of spending by 3 of the folks running.
GOP not really anything to draw. The Supreme Court is a chance for a MAGA move but most people probably are utterly unaware.
Certainly will be an opportunity for McCullough to take out the establishment choice, if enough voters are even aware of the distinction between the two.
So will be interesting to see if the MAGA candidate was able to get voters out… certainly lowest turnout this far of any election I have worked so far.. particularly for R’s.

Sadly establishment candidate won handily, not surprising sadly.. I doubt most voters even knew the difference between the two. McCullough crushed it in Allegheny County which is where she is from, but clearly the establishment won overall. I had hoped since this race had amazingly low turnout, and that McCullough was listed first on the ballot (at least in my district) that she had a reasonable shot at the upset... but alas it was not to be.
Election had much lower turnout on the R side than the D side, don’t know historical averages in off year primaries like this, have worked them before, but this was by far the LOWEST turnout of any election in the past 7-8 years in my district.. not surprising. My district the difference was more than 2 to 1 D to R... however as I stated before in my county there was a contested county executive race that had 6 candidates, 3 of which were spending decent money to GOTV and WIN.. so the fact my personal district was so lopsided (and my county as well most likely) is pretty explainable.
However statewide, Dems had about a 25% better overall turnout. Dems do have about a 18% registration advantage, so they definitely did a better job statewide of GOTV than Dems did in this primary.
So, once again the GOP of PA underperformed.
I am not sounding chicken little alarms, but clearly the GOP machine is lagging behind in PA, where it needs to be. PA is a closed primary state.. Underperforming by around 40% what your opposition is managing isn’t a good indicator.
If turnout levels were identical D’s would have about an 18% greater number of voters, they had around 25%.
Again not screaming the sky is falling, it was a boring off cycle primary, with nothing major to draw in anyone across most of the state.... but I think it shows the Dems are doing a better job of getting their voters to engage. Doesn’t bode well for the General Election this fall, which isn’t likely to be a big draw either.
Next Year will be presidential, and Senate race, so I am certain GOP will do better, but to have such a big disparity in turnout, in such a boring election does seem to indicate that the D’s have put together a far better ground game at the moment than the R’s do.
That is a problem that HAS to be resolved, longer term.
Only if you assume the elections were fair.
