Trump won presidential elections twice, minus the election fraud the second time. Trump does indeed acknowledge the election fraud although it remains unclear if we can overcome it.
DeSantis has never won a presidential election and has never even acknowledged that there was election fraud in 2020.
As one who "cares about America", I see that as two big DeMerits for DeSantis.

He’s being fully funded by the GOPe donor class and that same group is giving him political organizational help and advisement. Does anyone think they will let DeSantis espouse a MAGA type agenda with a stronger emphasis on domestic affairs and being less involved financially and militarily overseas? Are you kidding? Wars and cheap foreign labor keep these people wealthy and powerful, so they’re heavily invested in denying Trump the nomination and DeSantis is their man.

I also recognize that Justice Thomas isn't getting younger, and we have a border, federal law enforcement, and taxation problem. Memes and zingers don't contribute to solving those problems.

This is why we respect Trump. He respects the people. He knows he’s not owed anything and the nomination isn’t just his, he knows he has to fight for it and that’s exactly what he’s doing. That’s why the “whoever is winning this early never wins” mantra doesn’t really apply to Trump. All the others assumed it was theirs and didn’t fight for it. Also, Romney when he appeared to be up on Obama (he never was). He took his foot off the gas and tried to cruise. You’re not going to see that from Trump.

What definitely won't save us is the one who doesn't want to even talk about the 2020 fraud in the swing states and has never acknowledged (as far as I know) that it had occurred.
I never understood why some people are so insistent that we nominate Trump again if there's some serious doubt if the election could even be won due to systemic fraud.
