We have a great selection of experienced and successful governors that might join the race if and once Trump drops out, or before. DeSantis, Noem, Abbott, Sanders, Youngkin, etc. that might be viable and have experience. I will prefer a governor over a senator or member of Congress.
Right now, a bit of wait and see. The campaign is early and with the serious question of if Biden can make it to 2024, wide open.
Getting things done is not conservative.
Conservatism is about government not intruding into life. That means not getting things done. It means favoring upheaval in DC so that the status quo is erased, and all those associated with it, ditto.
You miss the point that Cruz is not eligible, nor is Haley, or Vivakwhatever. The latter is so clueless of US Constitution, culture, and history, that he suggests raising the voting age to 25.
Making fun of some other republican’s first name is one thing, but calling that person ‘a fool’ is crossing a line.
Trump should brace himself to hear his name purposely mangled or to be straight out called ‘a fool’ by another republican.
Two or more can play at that game.
I agree. I want Trump to win, I want him to run unopposed on the R side. DeSantis should ride it out til ‘28. This is not his moment. But for Trump tearing down DeSantis? He needs to STFU.
Rob is electable. Rump isn’t.

But not within the Democrat party. They save their insults and venom for Republicans. For example, AOC has criticized some of Biden’s policies. But she doesn’t insult Biden. She doesn’t call him “fool”, or any other names.
And what Democrat mocks the Clintons or the Obamas? None do.

All anyone has to do is see what DeSantis has done, or in his case not done, about two things: fixing Florida’s budget mess and securing Florida’s elections.
DeSantis has had years to address both and hasn’t.
That says it all.

That is the real issue imo. If he is the nominee then I think
the real issue will be “Kamala Harris” who is 58 Years of
age. Biden will be 82 years old on November 20, 1942.
Thus the VP will become a major factor in the race, jmo.
Because Trump is a childish twit and thought he was being clever. I for one and many I have talked to are sick and tired of Trump’s childishness.
You have to answer just ONE question. How are you going to flip 38+ electoral votes, dude?
We NEED Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona or some combo theirin.
And this is against the backdrop of mail-in voting, which isn't going away.
We love what you did in 2016, but you're now bordering on bread and circuses.
If you cannot tell me how the f you're flipping these states, you don't deserve the nomination.
