The boss of Russian mercenary group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, accused a Russian brigade of abandoning its position in front-line Bakhmut, allowing Ukraine to seize territory.
The remarks are the latest in a series of public criticisms from him of Moscow’s Ministry of Defense for the faltering invasion of Ukraine – and, in particular, the failure to capture the city of Bakhmut. But while Prigozhin has frequently poured scorn on the Russian military and its leadership, he has not previously accused Russian units of running from battle and allowing Ukrainian forces to recapture territory.
Prigozhin said the 72nd brigade “just ran the hell out of there.”
Responding to questions from a Russian media outlet, Prigozhin said: “There is a serious risk of encirclement of PMC Wagner in Bakhmut as a result of the failure of the flanks. The flanks are already cracking and falling through.”
“At the moment, within the city of Bakhmut, there is only Wagner PMC, there are no other units. Outside Bakhmut [there is] only the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. PMC Wagner is not there,” he said.

I’ve read that Russian draftees are only in for 1 year. Not enough time to get them properly trained.
Like a good Russian he lies. The RGF’s 72nd negotiated a surrender; those that fled were his troops.
Doubtful. 🙄
No one cares OK? So sick and tired of Urkaine shills here on FR pushing endless wars.
“Some of you may die, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make!”
“Yeah, they ran through the briars
And they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes
Where the rabbit couldn’t go
They ran so fast
That the hounds couldn’t catch ‘em”
From “Battle of New Orleans”
Chaotic retreat is a mixed blessing.
“Don’t cheer boys, brave men are dying.”
I’m with Trump on this, “Stop the dying.”
I imagine that the average Russian is as willing to support his own govt as I am to support mine.
Russia is far far less of a threat to me than DemonRATs.
Well by all means then, pour on the steam for more territory captured for the AFU! The RF is too poorly trained channel the AFU into calibrated artillery kill zones. Yse siree!

There is no way to know what is true. Many stories are out there making contradictory claims, including that these public statements are a ruse by the Russians.
Correct.
Propaganda or truth or somewhere in between?
In a way these “war reports” remind me of political polls where some people just gobble them up, discuss the various points, add to the discussion and believe all that is read and said as the gospel truth. Only to find out come election time the polling data for the most part was just BS designed to sway voters.
Same with these war reports. To many they are the gospel. But like an election, the truth comes out in the end. (or so it used to be before massive voter fraud)
The only reporting I take seriously is the massive amount of money being spent, the number of dead (all of them) and all the weapons being sent there with all the good people fighting. It’s all a tragic waste.

Explanation :
Conservatives are traditionally pro-borders. That’s why we are helping our Ukrainian allies to defend themselves against our arch enemy Russia which has been invading Ukraine (violating its borders with tanks, artillery, soldiers and Wagner-convicts...) for well over a year now.
America has signed The Budapest Memorandum in 1994, giving Ukraine security assurances in case it would be attacked by Russia. Russia ALSO signed that memorandum, but as the world now knows... Russia raped it to pieces - just like any commie-nations and/or neo-Soviet degenerated ideologies usually do.
The USA on he other hand RESPECTED its signature, and is therefore helping Ukraine to protect its borders and sovereignty. No US troops on the ground though.
Again, we conservatives like the respect for borders. We can’t let foreign armies (especially neo-Soviet armies) invade and take control of everything.
If we let Russia take over Europe, America would lose its biggest client which is buying American goods, oil and gas.
It would mean the total collapse of USA’s economy, period.
Only Communists are right now supporting Putin’s war :
China, Venezuela, North Korea, Belarus, Cuba, Nicaragua, Brazil and of course the Islamic State of IRAN and Islamist republic of Chechnya. That’s it!!
THEY are the ones pushing for endless wars.
America and allies are only defending ourselves against illegal Russian military expansion. It’s fair, logical, and necessary if we want our future economy to survive. America must stay the Worlds number one super power. We can’t let any Russia-China alliance change that.
Yes, a lot of us are weary of this relentless B.S.
And to make it worse, those braying jackasses accuse those of us who oppose our dollars being flushed down the Biden-Zelensky money laundering crap hole of being “Putin puffers,” “Bolsheviks,” “Communists,” “Russians” and other nasty nonsense.
I really don’t care what leftists call me or think of me, but the sheer volume of these idiots’ threads, posts, lies and vile rhetoric is ruining FR.

Funny how you whine about being called names, when you and everyone on your side do the same exact thing.
Let’s see, you just called all of those who disagree with you “leftists”, and “idiots”. I’m sure I could probably find more examples, but you’ve already lost the argument.
