I've said the same thing numerous times. The MIC lied to us for decades, exaggerating Russia's capabilities so they could enrich themselves. China is most likely a paper tiger as well.
For additional recent proof of their likes, look at how many times they went before congress and told them the Afghan army was well-trained and ready to defend the country, only to fold within hours of our withdrawal.

I can better your statement. To me the worst set of lies came from the Bush regime when they claimed WMD’s in Iraq as the reason for destroying the Middle East. I never understood this to begin with. Even though the WMD’s were mythical, so what if Iraq had them? N Korea has them, Iran has them, why aren’t we beating the war drums to invade them.
The Twin Towers was truly a tragedy, but it was an act of terrorism, not war. The regime compared it to Pearl Harbor. I never bought that either, for Peal Harbor was a military target attacked by a huge military force that led to a declaration of war. I was not a Bill Clinton fan by any means, but he made sense when he said it was an act of terror and we should not have been invading Afghanistan.
The American public bought into it, hook line and sinker for our longest war.
China is no military threat to the USA.
It is a military threat to India, Vietnam, Russia and Mongolia. It’s navy won’t be able to take a fortress island like Taiwan.
