The end goal is to force most Americans to live in densely populated, democrat controlled large cities and ride around in mass transit.

Low gas prices are a problem for the left and the green energy movement. Electric vehicles only make economic sense when gas prices are above $3.00 per gallon.

The left desires control more than anything. They want control of the population’s ability to drive, to heat their housed, to cook, to stay up at night (lighting). Electricity and control over the grid enables the control of the consumers of electricity. You can’t shut off natural gas supply from a central location like you can electricity.

Their goal is to put in place the controls over electricity (smart meters) and then implement a social credit policy over the distribution of electricity. That way, like China, they can shut down the power to those that oppose the government.

But cheep gas stands in their way. Gasoline can not be centrally managed.
