If you lived here you would know that housing in suburbia has been mostly built out since the 1950s, that inventory is very low because zoning laws are very strict on building multifamily, that there are more Hispanics than blacks in Nassau, Westchester, and Suffolk Counties, and that those blacks who live in suburbia are self segregated to towns like Mt Vernon, Valley Stream and Hempstead, and that whites (and Hispanics and Asians) do whatever they can to prevent school districts from being redrawn to prevent their demographics from tipping. “Suburban flight” happened in the 1950s-70s and there has been a stasis since then - there is just no more inventory or construction happening in the Levittowns that were built back in the day.

If you lived here

Are you kidding? NYC area over 30 years, rest of the state 10.

Other parts of the nation 10.

Common observation in all: when media hypes "low growth," "population decline" or various "shortages" hysteria, it's always to justify a planned dumping of illegal aliens.

I've seen it time and time again, in context after context.

no more inventory or construction

What is the "growth" needed in an established community? The whole concept teems with assumptions all conceived to engender hysteria readily weaved into the illegal alien welcome mat. Maybe everywhere suburbs need to extend sidewalks into already congested streets, like they have done in Queens, to accommodate explosions in pedestrian traffic of illegal aliens.
