That explains the outrageous numbers $200M per person... sure, it’s coming any day now. Meanwhile the inter-city areas where these constituents dwell (and still vote Democrat) will remain drug, homeless, fatherless and crime infected free fire zones. Yet somehow, these 100% ruled Democrat hell holes are still the Republicans fault. Left math never adds up. Also explains why the schools in these areas are awful on purpose, an educated populace might vote different. So keep them ignorant, keep them angry.

I did read the article. Reparations for slavery has morphed into an all encompassing program to take money from whitey and give it to minorities. Don’t think this will stop with African Americans.
If they try to actually implement this BS racist garbage and finance it using taxes, that’s the last penny in tax they will ever collect from me.

Not to mention people like me - and many others - who lost direct descendants fighting on the side of the north in the civil war (Antietam in my case) - where are my reparations for those lost family members?

Think 3500 vs 145000 or 40 vs 2800 annually. That sounds more like o ton of flesh than a pound of flesh.
There were 43 lynchings in California from 1882 to 1968 comprised of 40 whites and 3 blacks. Yet, reparations of 1.2 million per person is for whom?

If the idea of reparations is accepted, as questionable as it is, then the only ones who should pay are the descendants of those elite peerage bloodlines.
It’s more than likely that written records exist in very private places - that document every slave and every owner. ‘The people in charge’ - for lack of a better term - are extraordinary record keepers. To them, bloodlines are paramount.

I have many problems with reparations, generally around the recipients. But as problematic is who should pay? I wasn’t a wealthy slave owner who profited from their labor. Payments should come from slave owners -

Obviously a typical ignorant college professor. Blacks were not the only ones enslaved and whites were not the only ones who held salves. 1.4% of whites every held slaves and 24% of blacks held slaves.

Those are BEHAVIORAL ISSUES, not race or slavery related. No amount of money will improve your health or keep you out of prison. In fact, giving away lots of money will exacerbate the prison problem by creating even more sense of entitlement to free money.
