Our local shopping mall is a gun free zone as well. I used to go there to support the local economy, but if that’s how they want to play it, screw em, I’ll just order online. Good luck to them, hope nothing happens there…

I had taken my granddaughter to the mall on Saturday to get her glasses (Short Pump Town Center, Richmond VA suburb). Another one of those with signs posted "No guns permitted". See here:

I was constantly scanning our surroundings like you're supposed to do, whether armed or not. We got out of there safely.

If they failed to update the FBI’s NICS database to reflect that, then the Army is liable, because that would have stopped him from buying any guns legally. Simon properties are gun free zones. Whether the area was correctly posted IAW Texas laws, IDK. Texas has very specific signage for a GFZ. Without the signage, it's only considered trespassing.

With the proper signage, it's trespassing. Without proper signage, it's perfectly legal.

With more than 400,000,000 guns in private hands in USA, it is stupid to make any zone gun free zones in USA. That is a free pass to criminals knowing no law abiding will have guns with them there. Like shooting ducks in a small pond.
