The Ukrainian military has brushed aside claims by the head of Russia’s Wagner mercenary force that he will withdraw his fighters from the battle for the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, saying the mercenaries were holding firm and receiving reinforcements.
Ukraine’s military said on Friday that Wagner fighters were reinforcing positions in Bakhmut with the likely intention to try and seize the destroyed city before Russia marks the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II on May 9.
“We are now seeing them pulling (fighters) from the entire offensive line where the Wagner fighters were, they are pulling (them) to the Bakhmut direction,” Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar said on Ukrainian television.

Putin’s new ‘killer’ anti-Ukraine plan ready; Here’s how Russia will fulfill Wagner’s demands
“... On Friday, Wagner Group Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin criticised the Russian Defence Ministry for insufficient ammunition supplies to Bakhmut. Acting swiftly on battlefield demands, the Vladimir Putin administration will be sending hundreds of arms and equipment to its troops in Ukraine.”
Especially after capturing 97% of Bakhmut. The Wagners can take some R&R and have the Russian army take the other three percent.
I believe that the Ukrainian troops still in Bahkmut are learning about “ Thermite Incendiery shells”. Am thinking that they are pretty much done if that keeps up. The US did this to a dozen or so German cities in WW2, nasty stuff.

thermite is OK now?
so you’re saying it would be OK for Ukraine to use thermite on, say, Russian centers in Crimea? or Russian crowds at the May 9th “celebrations”?
hey, fair is fair ...
Just reporting what’s happening, no dog in the fight. Why not ask the US government if it’s ok?
Russia started this war by invading a sovereign country, when their bogus attempted takeover using a stooge stealth candidate (Yanukovich) didn’t work
Russia introduced kidnapping of children
Russia introduced bombing of apartment buildings with missiles
Russia introduced thermite to the battlefield
** at every step of this war, RUSSIA has been the one to recklessly escalate things **
guess it’s yet another sign of how desperate and impatient Russia is to just end this stupid little “3-day invasion” already, LOL
Thermite? You mean Phosphorous?
You sound butthurt (as usual)...why don’t you get off your cushion go fight for your homeland?
You can use it but not purposely on civilians.
They know that and you don’t.
Some of the Wagner mercenary force are in Sudan slaughtering
Feinting one thing and doing another is standard military tactics.
Putin and his minions continue to shame the Russian nation.
“Thermite? Phosphorous?”
Okay, I did a little research as I know little regarding military weaponry. Hope this info gives some answers:
1. Thermite is a mixture of iron oxide (basically, rust) and aluminum; it is among the most widely used incendiary materials. Thermite burn temp is 2200°C/4000°F.
The thermite reaction is as follows: Fe2O3 + 2Al → Al2O3 + 2Fe. Thermite melts most metals “like a torch melts ice”: melts or destroys all the armor and trucks, tanks, metal, wood.
2. White phosphorus weapons use in civilian areas is considered as a war crime: Article 35 of Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions rules that any weapon that causes “superfluous or unnecessary suffering” is outlawed. The indiscriminate firing of white phosphorus constitutes a war crime.
White phosphorus is viewed as much worse than just because other than a flair, there is no real reason to use as it will not melt anything but homes and people. The buildings and the armor will still be there, just looks burned up like someone set off a bunch of fireworks on top of everything.
Drone footage released by the UKrainian military, shows parts of the city – the scene of some of the bloodiest fighting of the war – ablaze as white phosphorus rains down.
White phosphorus is a solid which burns readily in air. WP burn temp is 800°C/1500°F. It can be safely handle under water, but will burst into intense flame once dry.
Phosphorus dispersed by high explosives has tremendous potential to cause injury, often embedding itself (in small pieces) in the skin of its victims and continues to burn.
Phosphorus can be used as an incendiary weapon to maim, poison or kill indiscriminately and is known to cause instant scarring of the lungs, heart, liver and kidneys and to be capable of burning through muscle to the bone, often causing severe second and third-degree burns that typically require skin grafts.
I think that Wagner has been saying for a while that they would pull out. My suspicion is that this new claim is intended to cause the Ukrainians to delay some movement, since they would naturally have a better chance of success if the Russian line was thinner. All the while the Russians would probably be fortifying their positions and awaiting arms shipments.
Russian man speaks with a forked tongue, pay attention to what they do, not to what they say.
