Five young teenage girls from North Georgia were arrested in Henry County after authorities say they stole one of their parents’ cars and took a joyride heading to Panama City Beach for a trip.
On Tuesday, May 2, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a BOLO from Catoosa County, Georgia about a stolen Santa Fe possibly in the area.
According to Sheriff Eric Blankenship, not long after they received the alert, Newville Police Chief Henry Danzey saw the car at a gas station on Highway 431 in Headland and stopped the car, discovering it was occupied by five teen girls between the ages of 12-14, with a 12-year-old driving.
Headland Police and the Henry County Sheriff Deputies also responded to the gas station.
Sheriff Blankenship says the girls left Catoosa County at around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning after one of the girls stole their parent’s Santa Fe and began traveling south heading towards Panama City, Florida for a beach trip.

wow...making memories
Hasn’t been a good week for kids behind the wheel...
Kids were the vics this time. No word on if perp is a citizen.
Sounds like the type of wild hayride kids used to do when I was growing up.
Well, it is not something new. Around 2000 my house phone received a call from a 16 yo kid who informed that my GF’s daughter had not returned his car which he needed work. She was 14 at the time. I asked how did she come to drive the car. He said I lent it to her when she skipped school this AM as long as she returned it by 2. After some time passed, he said you don’t seem concerned. I said, well, I am concerned about her choices but YOU gave a car to someone without a DL to drive. I think I would dwell on the liability you put on yourself and who ever owns that car. Hopefully she does not get in an accident, and hopefully for you she does not get stopped by the police because you willingly gave it to her to drive. Have a good day, bye!
Fortunately nothing happened while she was driving but that is the mindset. It is why they are kids and need be protected and on a short leash.
I bet they were Amish girls on a rumspringa adventure. Needless to ask where were their parents or more likely parent. How were they financing this adventure?…stolen credit cards and shoplifting would be my guess.
‘Young teens’
What kind of writing is that?
Hey it’s Georgia after all
‘Young teens’
What kind of writing is that?
*********
I’m three days older than dirt and ALL teens are young, but from the average readers perspective it makes sense. Although, the driver was a pre-teen.
This was a few months ago 3 houses and across the street from My house. Saturday afternoon 3 wannabe gang punks from Charlotte up here trying to do their Initiation task. (they failed) in Moorseville 20 miles North.
Corner of neighbors house that got clipped when the teenager driving got Pit Maneuvered and the crashing started. Probably 25 LEO's in pursuit.
They (3 ages 15/17/18) hit the one house cutting the corner of the lot went across the side road flipping over and pancaking it upside down on the roof of the car , landing in the driveway of the other corner house. One tried to bail out and escape going between My house and the next door neighbors house into their garden about 15 yards. Was running very fast but not as fast as the Moorseville Lady cop in full dress gear, she was like a freaking Gazelle !!! She just flat ran him down !!! It was like watching a Cessna 182 vs an F-16 with both at full throttle !!!
I'm sitting there watching the birds in the trees then suddenly watching all this go down from the bathroom window. What happened to the sleepy little Town that I moved to 11 years ago ?
The car looks like it’s asleep...
Remember the old TV ads
DO YOU KNOE WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE AT?
Parenting plays a big part in a teens life
If it’s a kid that lives in the house, it’s not likely stealing.
And what were they supposed to do after arriving? Hit the bars?
‘Young teens’
16-19 would still be “teen” but legally qualified to drive.
Under 16 would qualify as “young teen”.
“What happened to the sleepy little Town that I moved to 11 years ago ?”
Like you said. Charlotte. Gang members started coming from Roanoke Va to Blacksburg to shoot people. That’s when we left.
