Unless I missed an update, they’re calling it a 6.2 now.
That’s a decent sized quake, but it’s not a major one.
Hopefully there won’t be too much damage from it.

Epicenter in the sea off of Ishikawa . They were lucky , unlike we here in Kumamoto who had two 7+ quakes within 30 hours seven years ago and the epicenters were within 5 miles from where we live .

No B-29s involved?FYI the B-29s weren't able to fly that far NW from the Marianas to bomb the Noto Peninsula or any of the major cities around there like Kanazawa and Toyama.

I believe that part of the grading of a quake is related to
longevity. I may be wrong on that.
