House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-Lou.) on Sunday shot down notions of any tension with Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), following recent reporting of a sharp rift between the two Republican leaders.
“We have a very strong, open relationship,” Scalise said of the dynamic between himself and McCarthy on ABC’s “This Week.” “We don’t always agree on everything, but we have a very candid relationship.”

LOL
It’s an open relationship. That means they are OK with seeing other people.
Scalise was a strong conservative during his first 3 or 4 terms. It’s not a lie to say he’s been a squish ever since he took that bullet (in the spine?) though he was starting to head towards the left even before the crazed Democrat attempted to assassinate him. The longer they’re in DC, the squishier they get.
The other thing that’s changed for Scalise is he is now a member of the leadership — hence he is important enough for the media to try to invent a fictitious feud between him and the Grand high Exalted Poobah, Kevin McCarthy. There is of course no such feud, they agree pretty much everything.
If you want to get into the GOP leadership, you have to leave your conservatism at the door and become a pussified moderate. The Democrats do the same thing too, forcing their radical leftists to become moderates if they want a high profile position.
Oh wait....
“It’s an open relationship. That means they are OK with seeing other people.”
Thanks for the laugh. Psychobabble has penetrated deeply.
