Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said reports on his potential presidential campaign launch date are “inaccurate,” and no plans have been made for an announcement event.
“If there’s any announcements, those will come at the appropriate time. But if anyone’s telling you that somehow they know this or they know that, that’s just inaccurate because there’s not been any decisions made,” he said.

desantis has also been hitting the campaign trail, going to various states, and now doing a foreign country tour to buff up his resume.
We know desantis was lying about not running for president, because the florida legislature just changed the law to allow him to do so, and still be governor.
So, desantis was lying then, is desantis still lying now?
It appears so, because desantis could easily stop speculation by just say he has no intent on running for president for the 2024 election and that decision is final....
What kind of game is DeSantis playing here? He’s full of games.
Reports of the death of the GOP due to bungling and infighting rivalries have been greatly exaggerated.
Trump helped him get elected, he showed no respect or loyalty to Trump
The people of Florida just re-elected him and he’s out galavanting all over the country showing no respect or loyalty to the people of Florida
Why would anyone think he would be loyal to the voters if the elected him president?
Its “the (s)Hill”, so I take anything published from that source with a grain of salt. However, I’ve said before that this business of “running but not running” is off putting. In fact, it raises some distrust, DeSantis’ record in Florida and the up till recent Florida law restraints notwithstanding.
I suspect that DeSantis is made up of the Bush, Cheney, Paul Ryan establishment wing of the Republican Party.
Same.
Again feel the SAME!! Surrounded by ALL THE WRONG people!!
It’s a shame. Because he seemed to be fighting well for Florida.
That’s where he belongs…fighting as a governor. He doesn’t have the chops to be POTUS yet, if ever.
Hey Ron, if you had to make a decision while President is this what we have to loom forward to? Xi may not give you so much time
sounds like ron dipped his toe, and now may be un-dipping it, esp. now that a tsunami of elected GOP leaders have endorsed Trump during the last week, and the gazillionaire donors he’s been trying to court are either deserting him or un-dipping their toes too ...

Trump just helped Ronna McRomney get elected. He shows no respect for his conservative voters.
You people are pretty blind.
What happens when Trump self immolates and flames out leaving Chris Christie or Nikki Haley as our only option?
You say there’s no chance of Trump losing? Don’t be naive. Thank God DeSantis will be there to pick up the pieces if/when Trump is gone.
One of those donors, Thomas Peterffy, stopped giving money to DeSantis, and instead gave one million to a PAC headed by Glenn Youngkin. I suspect the GOPe is seeing the horrible polling for RDS and are looking for alternatives to prop up against Trump, including Youngkin.
Ron DeSantis will be there to pick up the pieces? Yeah, he’ll be picking up the pieces of his shattered political career after he gets walloped in the primaries.
Put all your eggs in one basket if you want. Most people are fine with more than one solid choice.
Especially since Trump is on the edge of irrelevancy.
I’ve been thinking he’s not going to run for months despite all the speculation.
I think he’s conducting fact finding missions and testing the waters a bit. One should be able to do that without taking too much flak, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Personally I think Florida needs DeSantis at this point in time, he seems satisfied with his governorship and I think it would be a disservice to the Floridians who put him in office to abandon them for a ‘24 run.
It remains to be seen. Political forecasting is rarely accurate.
Trump is on the edge of irrelevancy? You are aware there are tens of millions of Republicans who are not part of our little FR sphere and most of them still support Trump.
I agree, I don’t think DeSantis will run
