And "social media" is probably the most to blame. It's rotting kids brains and their natural development.
I'm generally not a fan of yet more laws or legislation, but perhaps something along these lines might help (especially since "social media" is a relatively new phenomenon)...

There are countless efforts floating around Capitol Hill aimed at safeguarding the nation’s children from the dangers of social media, but this new measure, known as the Protecting Kids on Social Media Act, takes aim at the algorithms Silicon Valley employs to keep kids on their sites. Specifically, it bars children under 13 from creating accounts on social media apps, while also greatly curtailing the algorithms tech companies could deploy on people between 13 and 17 years old. (Users under 13 would still be able to view online content, provided they aren’t logged into an account.) The bill would also require parental consent before anyone under 18 could create a profile.
Right… but I’m not sure I believe these polls.
After all, the key to encouraging deviant behavior is normalize it - and the best way to normalize something is to make people believe it’s more common than it really is.
This is why in TV land, half the characters are openly gay, and the other half are either secretly gay, or gay but they don’t know it yet. This is obviously a strategy to make people accept being gay as normal.
So, I’d be surprised if these polls weren’t rigged to project the same idea.
And the suggestions about questionable sexuality just keep on coming. “Transgender” is an out-and-out fabrication, with no basis in fact, either biologically or psychologically. It either presents as a transvestite, or as a mutilated body, but the basic infrastructure in every cell of the body is still either XX, female, or XY, male. There is no intermediate state.
If everybody came to the same cliff and jumped off, would you jump off too? A species of small rodent is well known for this sometimes mass suicide, everybody just gets swept in the emotion of the moment. Perhaps it does thin the herd a little, but on an individual basis, not a very good response.
But then, mass hysteria has been an repeating phenomenon throughout human history, and eventually, it burns itself out, before total extinction.

How many of those claiming to be gay have actually smoked some white owl or taken it up the Hershey highway. It’s BS.

The propaganda is working. There was a day when no one wanted to admit to being gay. A very few were, but they didn’t publicly exclaim it.
There was a popular boy (not handsome by any means, but nice and well liked) in my H.S. class, no one knew he was gay until he came home to be cared for by his sister because he had AIDS when it was still a death sentence.
