A federal appeals court has denied Donald Trump’s latest effort to stop former Vice President Mike Pence from testifying before a grand jury exploring whether crimes were committed by Trump and his allies as they worked to undo President Joe Biden’s 2020 win.
The order from the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit on Wednesday rejected a push by the former president’s legal team to stop Pence from being compelled to appear. A federal district judge earlier this month had rebuffed Trump’s position that Pence should be barred from testifying on executive privilege grounds.
Unless Trump asks the full DC Circuit to weigh in or petitions the US Supreme Court to intervene, the order, which was filed under seal, clears the way for Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team to enforce the subpoena for Pence’s appearance.
Pence would be the highest-ranking former Trump administration official to go before the grand jury in connection with Smith’s inquiry. He has spoken publicly about rebuffing Trump’s demands to interfere with the certification of the electoral results by Congress on Jan. 6, 2021 — but he hasn’t had to do so under oath.

The minute I first saw Pence, my immediate reaction was, “I don’t trust this guy.”
Boomerang incoming.
I have noticed a pattern when it comes to Trump.
He gets legal advice about things like; 1. Attorney client privilege 2. Separation of powers 3. Executive privilege. 4. Executive responsibilities.
He follows that advice, even when succumbing would be easier and doesn’t expose himself.
The Democrats and the judges, in essence, make up new ‘law’ whole cloth to attack him. Even if it destroys 230 years of accepted legal history, fails the Constitutional sniff test, the courts continue to allow it till the highest levels. I think he challenges things, not so much to protect himself, but to protect the future and the government.
Say what you will, but at this point people recognize that the legal system is failing in its mission. Rule of law has been broken by partisan political activities, and more people have noticed. When prosecutors don’t bother to present Brady material to Grand Juries, and hide that from the defense, and they even do it to the former POTUS, it exposes the legal system to severe future jeopardy.

The NY indictments are crap and amount to no more than ankle biting.
Jack Smith indictment will be another thing altogether. Merrick Garland directly appointed him to be hit man. A DC jury will comply and with their hand-picked judge, conviction is assured. Trump doesn't stand a chance.
Pence will be threatened with indictment and the prospect of ruinous expenses in defending himself. He'll fold and read the script they give him for the court.
