Two Michigan middle schoolers are suing their school district for barring them from wearing sweatshirts that say “Let’s Go Brandon” — a popular right-wing rally cry that stands as a substitute for cursing out President Biden.
The boys’ mother argued that the ban infringes on their constitutional rights, while the Tri County Area School District insists the sweatshirts violate its dress code, which bars clothing “with messages that are lewd, indecent, vulgar or profane,” the Detroit Free Press reported.
The lawsuit alleges that when the brothers wore their “Let’s Go Brandon” sweatshirts to Tri County Middle School last year, an assistant principal and teacher asked them to remove the garments and told one of the boys that “his sweatshirt was equivalent to the f-word.“
“Let’s Go Brandon” became a widespread conservative slogan in October 2021 when a TV reporter mistakenly claimed a NASCAR crowd was chanting “Let’s go Brandon” to celebrate a win by driver Brandon Brown — when they were actually yelling “F— Joe Biden.”

Tinker v. Des Moines
For those unaware: Tinker v. Des Moines set the precedent that students have 1st Amendment rights, too! Stepping into school properly doesn’t mean that students give up their right to free expression. The Tinker ruling confirmed that symbolic speech merits protection under the 1st amendment.re:

Just tell them you are NASCAR fans.
Anyone who doesn’t like the shirt can simply “avert their eyes.”

It sounds like the Michigan schools are trying to train the kids to live on a plantation and do what dah massa says.
“[P]ersons confronted with Cohen’s jacket were in a quite different posture than, say, those subjected to the raucous emissions of sound trucks blaring outside their residences. Those in the Los Angeles courthouse could effectively avoid further bombardment of their sensibilities simply by averting their eyes.”

It took the Left about 3 months to figured out where Let’s Go Brandon came from and then have a fit.
and told one of the boys that “his sweatshirt was equivalent to the f-word.“
Are there any honest judges left in Michigan?!?
Let’s go Tri County Area School District....
[“Let’s Go Brandon”]
If only there were a 1st Amendment ......
Soooo, going to school wearing a shirt that reads “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” would be okay?
I started using frig instead of the f word, but when I websearched the meaning, it said it is the equivalent of the f word. Say what?
