The nation has been given to understand that Joe Biden has announced his run for a second presidential term that would end on or about his 86th circuit around the sun.
The president is at that advanced age when families start having hard conversations about taking away grandpa's car keys, or whether Aunt Julie should really be using the stove unattended. Well, it's time for America to have that talk.
There is little doubt that for a half hour or so, Old Scranton Joe can be propped up in front of a flag reading an announcement off of his IMAX-sized teleprompter. Whether he will know what he is saying is another matter, but he'll get through it, likely with the promise of ice cream to follow.
As with every speech Biden gives, we will experience the feelings, familiar from eyeing family members who are elderly, of concern as his eyes toggle between a dim light of recognition and a visage pleading, "Where am I?"
But as the Octogenarian-in-Chief is so often wont to say, this is not a joke.

They should have a candidate that needs to debate their positions and would have to debate in order to gain votes. If Joe’s really the pick then we’ll know the steal is on again. Then, fighting the rigging is more important than who votes for what and the election becomes secondary to that fight.
We can’t let them get away with this again, but if they do, we will know that the United States of America is over.

Although , such a candidate is going to be able to debate and discuss issues much more skillfully than Joe can.
Such a candidate might actually persuade more people to vote Democrat. So is that good for our side; that’s why I posed the question.
Many Freepers opine that we don’t have free and fair elections anymore anyway. So there’s that.
Lately, the dems have had only two tools in their basket, buying votes from gullible, low-information voters and freeloaders and stealing elections. I'll put Trump up against any of them. He's probably twice as good by now at debating because his presidency has left him loaded with more facts then ever. He would annihilate any opposition, including Ron DeSantis in the primaries.
I'd really rather see a little sanity brought back into the process. I know, at this point that's a lot to wish for.

If not, we’ve got Kamala Harris to laugh right in their faces.
I have no confidence in the voting system of the U.S. and fully expect the two of them to “get the most votes ever” in 2024.
