In a demonstration of its “commitment to inclusion,” the Purdue University Student Government agreed to allocate $17,000 for a “rainbow crosswalk” during its last official meeting of the school year.
According to The Exponent, the crosswalk will span the intersection of Mitch Daniels Boulevard (formerly West State Street) and Grant Street (pictured).
Resolution author Lillian Ferguson said the high cost of the project is due to its “more resilient” thermoplastic design in lieu of mere paint. She noted such materials would give the crosswalk a decade of life before it would need repairs or replacement.

This student group is taking $17,000 and just pissing it away on signaling their supposed virtue.
Do the fuzzynuts tingle when they walk across it or what? Is there a pot of KY at the end of it?
Instead of this, they should spend the money to replace the marble bathroom stall partitions at the student union that their beneficiaries have drilled through with glory holes.
Why do they need a flag? They have co-opted God’s rainbow to their perverted cause. I am done with them.
Maybe the crosswalk can be built designed by the math challenged new age students.
That crosswalk is what paint is for.
It seems fitting that it will be on Mitch Daniels Boulevard.
I tell people all the time that the rainbow is a reminder that it won’t be a flood that God uses the next time He gets tired of hedonism.
Will people be allowed to drive over it? Will that be a homophobic act?
Or, they could have used the money to start a program such as the one at this middle school. Such a program would have been a lot more productive and they would have actually learned a few life skills.

I don’t understand why it’s going to cost 17K. You’d expect all of the Indiana Dung Beetle politicians to volunteer to paint the queer X-Walk and supply the paint.
What they need is a rainbow traffic signal.

I foresee a lot of burnouts on that street.
