I have wondered for months why Putin decided it was so important for him to start his Spring offensive in the middle of winter. One theory I am coming to is that he knows the counter offensive is coming and he wanted to force Ukraine into using reserves rather that building up for the counter offensive.
My personal opinion is that Putin failed in this objective and has greatly diminished his own forces in the process.
The coming counter offensive could be far more effective than many believe. Putin’s forces and logistics are stretched thin. Readiness is getting questionable. And moral couldn’t be worse.
All just my opinion.
