2:52 West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) will launch his U.S. Senate campaign next week in the Mountain State, according to an invitation first seen by Politico.
Justice’s long-awaited campaign will launch on Thursday at an event at The Greenbrier, his luxury resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, according to the invitation. A Republican strategist close to Justice confirmed the details to Politico.

The state is 70% red, there is NO REASON that they should have a Democrat Senator, and Justice will likely see to that.
Have you lived there? I lived there when Manchin co authored the most heinous s gun grabbing legislation under Obama.
They are republicans, but they are far, far from freedom lovers. More corporate cronies per sqr mile… and the state is a democratic $hithole that survives off manchins corrupt earmarks off your tables
Drove through n visited a couple of years back. Jimmy J has made it even worse than before.
Justice is no conservative. I would take Manchin over JJ and Baby Dog any day. Alex Mooney is the candidate that should have our support.
And when can we get rid of Tester in Montana??
Huh ... Not entirely unexpected. Munchkin is a former governor and was fairly popular as such. I don’t entirely trust Jim Justice, but he’d probably be an improvement over Manching. That’s not saying much.
I saw elsewhere that current Attorney General Patrick Morrissey is going to run for governor. That’s definitely a good thing.
Please stay the hell out of West Virginia and never come back.
Ever.
Go Mooney !
In the same election that Manchin gets dumped... 2024.
He is also 370 pounds and 72 years old. From a purely actuarial standpoint he isn’t a great choice for a six year term.
It’s good you left! With an attitude like that we don’t want you!
I’m no fan of Jim Justice but his tenure as governor has been quite good. I say 50% Justice 50% the GOP super majorities in the legislature. Taxes are actually being cut!
Justice has surprised me I expected his administration to be run as corruptly as his business practices. That didn’t seem to happen. The state particularly the north central part is doing quite well. The southeastern coal fields are still an economic wasteland.
I’ll be probably voting for Mooney even though he’s clearly a carpetbagger. He couldn’t win to get a professional political career going in western Maryland, so he moved to WV. He’s been quite successful here. I no longer like voting for obvious professional politicians. I prefer people to have had success in the private world first. Unfortunately considering Justice’s past business ethics even with his gubernatorial successes I can’t bring myself to vote for him in the primary. However, I do think he will win, and he will unseat Manchin, if Manchin indeed runs.
That is a bingo! This so called red state is full of people who will trade freedom for security in the form of government hand outs. That is why there is still a democrat senator.
