House Democrats are accusing the GOP of selectively using evidence to claim top government officials intentionally misled the public on the Hunter Biden laptop case to help then-candidate Joe Biden win the 2020 election.
GOP leaders on the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday, citing testimony from a former CIA deputy director that Blinken was the acting force behind the push to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation. Democrats pushed back on those allegations, accusing Republicans of using “cherry-picked” excerpts to “sensationalize a three-year-old tabloid story.”
“To be clear, no part of that interview demonstrates that Tony Blinken or any other Biden campaign official asked Mike Morrell to write a letter about Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Democrats on the Judiciary Committee wrote in a statement.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) announced on Friday that their panels would be opening investigations into the matter, specifically focusing on a letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials that shrugged off the Hunter Biden allegations as false. The pair accused Biden’s campaign of playing a role in suppressing the story as a way to prevent voters from “making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election.”
However, Democrats blasted those allegations, pointing to excerpts of Morrell’s testimony that they say prove Blinken and other Biden officials had no part in burying the story.
“At no point during his interview did Mr. Morrell testify that Secretary Blinken directed or asked him to write any letters,” they wrote. “Instead, Mr. Morrell testified that Mr. Blinken sought his advice, as many others have.”

the hunter laptop is one gigantic cherry- there is no picking that needs to be done- the whole thing is scandalous
Nothing is going to come of it.
My only question is why they didn’t kill them all off in 1865?
We suffer daily for that Lincoln mistake.
Democrat responses are so predictable, as is the corrupt media’s.
A cherry that looks like a cherry and smells like a cherry and tastes like a cherry is just a cherry!
Wait—did they not show the videos where Hunter is rescuing dolphins tied up in tuna nets? Or saving abandoned kids at the Tex/Mex border? Or donating money to the homeless? Well, then they’re right. Obvious cherry picking.
"CHERRY PICKING DATA"
"OUT OF CONTEXT"
evidence, being the operative word there...

The DNC is the original home of the “cherry-pickers”! HYPOCRITES!!!
BTW: It’s also the home of the nitpickers, nosepickers, fruitpickers and cotton pickers.
They should be telling people that there is a two tier justice system - one for rich and connected democrat politicians, and one for everyone else. Let that become a subject of discussion for the country.
This case is a stretch, and I’m not hanging my hat on it.
Apparently Mike Morrell is a FORMER top CIA official. He claims that he signed onto a 2020 letter saying that the Hunter laptop story is Russian disinformation because then-current Biden CIA operatives asked him to.
If Morrell had been a current CIA official the move would have been a violation of the Hatch Act, but he wasn’t. Morrell had no professional interest to conflict, and the fact that Morrell signed the letter because a current CIA official asked him to is irrelevant. Morrell’s actions are attributable to Morrell and no one else.
Sorry.

ROTFL!!! The only way we’re going to make it through Bidenskkyyy’s nightmare is to keep and show our sense of humor. Good show!
Exactly. The characterization of data they want to discredit as being “cherry picked” or “lacking context” is not a random thing.
NORMAL people who play by the rules both societal and intellectual, would say to themselves “Huh. Did I miss something? Did I cherry pick, or not view it in context?” and they would, if not that interested, drop it and assume they missed something.
Leftists win. A large percentage do indeed drop it, and the crisis fades further one day into the past. They win.
Then, those of us who ARE interested, may go back and look. We waste our time looking at something we knew to be true (a laptop, left unclaimed with a repair person, with incriminating material) but trying to ensure there wasn’t something we missed that made it “out of context” or “cherry picked”.
And the crisis fades further one more day into the past. They win.
Then they get Big Tech on their side to shape the information people are delivered in their web or information searches.
Labeled as “Lacks context” which makes it harder to find valid information, adding multiple mouse clicks, leading to additional authentication mechanisms such as one of their favorites “captcha” to drive people away from data they don’t want them to see.
Or, they simply drop the valid result it to the fifth page (or further) which research has shown that 99.95% of people never go to. (I just made that percentage up, but I believe that is a representative number)
And the crisis fades further one more day into the past. They win.
It becomes “old news”. And another of their favorite terms: “Debunked”.
This is part of their playbook. It isn’t random. It isn’t contrived. It is a tactic.
And we are at a disadvantage. Because we believe in seeing all the information, good or bad, and allowing people to make decisions.
They believe in only allowing you to see information that is advantageous to them
yup, repackaged WrapUp Smear...
House Democrats are accusing the GOP of selectively using evidence.
DUH show how many of the have not been charged in court yet.
