Jack Ma, founder of Chinese tech giant Alibaba, has been made an honorary professor of business at a top Hong Kong university, the school announced Friday (Apr 21).
The appointment comes weeks after the billionaire made a rare public appearance in China following his fall from grace during a government crackdown on the tech industry over two years ago.
Ma has kept a low profile since late 2020, when a speech he made attacking Chinese regulators was followed by Beijing pulling the plug on a planned IPO by Alibaba affiliate Ant Group. A record fine of US$2.75 billion was later imposed on Alibaba for alleged unfair business practices.

Look Hans, no Ma!.......................
He’s been “cancelled” CCP style.
Its progress, actually. 40 years ago, he just would have been shot.
I bow down to you.
His first adult job was an English language lecturer on international trade at a Chinese university.
Ma her just in time for our CWII. And people in drag disguise.
Then
“It’s Alright, Ma, I’m Only Bleeding.” Bob Dylan (1965)
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have to stand naked
The masters make the rules
For the wise men and the fools
For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
While some on principles baptized
To strict party platform ties
Social clubs in drag disguise
Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
With a killer’s pride, security
It blows the minds most bitterly
For them that think death’s honesty
Won’t fall upon them naturally
Life sometimes must get lonely
And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They’d probably put my head in a guillotine
But it’s alright, Ma, it’s life, and life only.
Word was “there” as in Hong Kong. typo.
The appointment comes weeks after the FORMER billionaire ... the CCP took it all away, because no one can be wealthier than the CCP.
