How many voters know that the Democratic Party supports legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy on demand for virtually any reason? How many voters know this position aligns with only six other countries in the world — three of them, not incidentally, being North Korea, Vietnam and China?
How many voters know that Democrats want to pass a federal law banning states from stopping sex-selective abortions or the dismembering of the post-viable unborn or the requirement of parental and guardian notification for minors before getting abortions? How many know that Democrats want to strip medical workers of their conscience rights by compelling them to participate in the procedure or lose their jobs? How many people know that Democrats want to eliminate the popular Hyde Amendment, which stops the federal government from funding abortions with taxpayer dollars?
Now, maybe a majority of voters aren’t aware of Democrats’ maximalist positions because the media endlessly lies and obfuscates them. And maybe pollsters rarely ask useful questions on the topic because the answers are a lot more complicated than they’d like. And, maybe, after the shock of Roe v. Wade being overturned — treated by Democrats as if it had been chiseled into magical stone tablets over the past 50 years — the energy and passion of the debate will temporarily reside on the pro-abortion side. And, maybe, if every voter knew all the facts, it still wouldn’t matter. Abortion is a complex and emotional issue.
None of that excuses the inability, or aversion, of national conservatives to make a coherent and compelling pro-life case. Sometimes it feels like Republicans are more terrified by the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision than pro-abortionists.

The problem, it seems, is that too many in the GOP accept the media’s concern trolling or listen to risk-averse advice of the consulting class.
Recently, for example, Janet Protasiewicz beat conservative Dan Kelly by 10 percentage points to flip Wisconsin’s Supreme Court. Virtually every outlet treated the race as a national referendum on abortion. Anonymous consultants were recruited by one big media outlet after the next to offer off-the-record comments voicing their deep concern about the deleterious effects of the abortion issue.
Weird how this dynamic only works in one direction.
How many voters know that the Demo-Rat Party also supports infanticide of the already-born infants?
JUST abortions? We could add a very long list of items. Just sayin’......🤔
Is it cowardice? Or do they not really believe abortion is wrong and just say it to get you to vote for them?
Democrats are viscerally opposed to the pro life movement.
Establishment Republicans (moderates and RINOs) are embarrassed by the pro life movement.
Conservatives have been the heart and soul of the pro life movement.
This is a battle that we have to win.
Both extremes are very unpopular. If you want to save babies thrown away for convenience then you will need to REPRESENT the voters rather than assuming that their views are simply a symptom of a public crying out for your greater wisdom and propaganda.
Polling has been going on since Roe and not even in the Middle East has a total ban.
The author can lead the way by stop calling it abortion. It’s murder.
While abortion is highly popular in this country and plays well for the dems, it’s a hill worth dying on. Saving lives of the unborn is far more important than winning elections.
Another problem is that there has been so much dishonesty from the people claiming to be everyone’s moral superior that they aren’t trusted by a large chunk of the voters.
The headline should have ended with the word ‘cowards’.
Apparently the author has never been in a substantive argument with liberal hens. They're not deterred by facts or logic. They want what they want and when they want it.
Republicans need to stop being cowards on many things........
+1.
Look, simple thing is neither party actually wants an abortion ban or unfettered abortion, at least not at the national level.
If Dems had wanted it they could have passed it after the Dobb’s decision came down, they had both the house and the Senate and the White House... and they DIDN’T DO IT< because its a better campaign issue to leverage than actual law to pass.
Don’t expect Republicans to pass any national ban on abortion when they take power again either.
Its a game folks.
If they want to save more babies they will need to give up the total ban, that will NEVER be consensus as it isn’t even the view in places like Saudi Arabia. These guys chose to lie in Kansas, they very likely lied to Trump (before being tripped up by Florida man being a no go), and NOW(?) they want to reason with voters, and by reason they mean that no-one can call out their articles of faith (or is it idolatry?)?
Consider the issue of gun control. This is a social issue that is generally unpopular, even in blue states. Yet Democrats are still willing to die on that hill, and have lost control of legislatures because of their insistence on gun control. Republicans have failed to learn this lesson. Persistence pays.
There was plenty of time during the Obama administration to pass gun control, and it didn’t happen, so no, false equivalence.
Democratic Party supports legalized Murder it’s why they support planed parenthood and PP is inching into the sex altering gig a pal of big pharma.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I consider reversing Roe a huge win
Seems some can’t be glad over that
Back when I thought that judge-shopping was only a thing that they did on the Left, and that the Right chose the more honorable path of passing actual legislation that voters could hold them responsible for (no lifetime appointments). But as it turns out the total ban people are no different than the Left in their contempt for the voters.
