WASHINGTON—Donald Trump has gained command of the GOP presidential-nomination race over Ron DeSantis, a new Wall Street Journal poll finds, with the former president building support across most parts of the primary electorate as the Florida governor has struggled on the national stage.

Mr. DeSantis’s 14-point advantage in December has fallen to a 13-point deficit, and he now trails Mr. Trump 51% to 38% among likely Republican primary voters in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup.

51 to 38? Desantis, has no shot at seeing 30% of the vote, let alone nearly 40.

Short of a major black swan event, Trump is the Republican Nominee, and it won’t even be close.

While Trump will make sure the GOP nomination process will be entertaining, the Dem side of the aisle is likely to be far more interesting.

JFK Jr, if he is able to gain traction, is going to make that side of things far far more interesting. His message thus far has largely been one against he deep/administrative state. If he is able to leverage that effectively among Democratic primary voters, he’ll wind up with the nomination.... of course the entire D machine will be working to prevent it, because the establishment on both sides of the aisle loves the deep state/administrative state.

The main question is, can JFK Jr pull that off?

I suspect he may indeed manage it, and if he does, 2024 is going to be for the democrats what 2016 was for the Republicans.

We’ll see how it plays out.

Kennedy will win the nomination if it’s fair. If Trump is not the nominee Kennedy would get a number of Trump supporters and would win some traditionally red states. I am not so sure they’ll let him win.

Geez I can’t keep up with the poll of the day. How many times has this changed?

It changes every time they do one and the breathlessly report the results as if it's news. Reporters are lazy and these polls are worthless.

What happened to the other 16%? Undecided? Not voting?

Again that full field does not bode well long-term for Trump. Better not sit on your laurels. 52% not voting for you is not a sure thing.

And 76% not voting for you doesn’t bode well for Desantis. Ronny D should have waited.

All polls right now are pure BS. Polls only start to matter after Labor Day 2024. I have feeling this is all Kabuki theater for the MAGA masses. DeSantis is the foil to Trump he make Trump appear unbeatable in the Primaries. That will discourage potential opponents who will siphon money from Trump during the primaries. Trump may well be unbeatable, but he cannot peak too early. He would not be the first primary front runner to crash and burn before Labor Day.

The GOPe does not care if Trump wins or loses. They retain power regardless. But they prefer a Christie or Pence in the WH. Someone from their side of the political tracks. Where Trump would destroy both in primaries, DeSantis may not. The GOPe's love affair with DeSantis is a lot of sweet nothings and they will leave him at the alter the first chance they get. I believe RINOS feel they can beat DeSantis with one of their own or control him in the worse case scenario.

I believe we need to coalesce behind one candidate ASAP. By the time the Primaries hit South Carolina it's all over but the crying. At that point, the candidate needs to stop the heavy campaigning and start building a massive get out the vote infrastructure trained in RAT style vote harvesting. If the candidate is a Pence or Christie type, it is over before the general election. MAGA and conservatives need change gears and push for control of the House and Senate, State Houses and AG positions. Play the long game, forget the Presidential election it will already be lost.

Forget what used to be and address the new paradigm. Build massive very aggressive get out the vote organizations in Arizona, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada. Bring in CA GOP operatives and teach how to ballot harvest the RAT way. Bring in a massive amount of lawyers to challenge the States voter rolls immediately after the primary. Time and time again we lose because we challenge after the general election. Use the massive voter role fraud in places like Milwaukee to take the RATS to court early and often. To a large extent do the same in Virginia, Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. Force the RATS to expend money to hold states they feel are safe.

Dump a huge bolus of early money into the coffers of GOP candidates in the Socialist RAT autocracies of CA, OR and WA. Let each of them build their own ballot harvesting teams. Do the same Red States where additional House seats are available. Cali GOP candidates have been doing it for years let them train the rest. Imagine what thousands of ballot harvesting teams could do through out the country. Actually don't imagine just look at the RATS machine.

Lastly, get conservatives in Governor and State AG positions. Get control of the elections. Play the long game. In NC we hold a veto proof majority in the House and Senate and we just flipped the State Supreme Court. We have a great candidate for governor, who is very out spoken and very popular. He would also be the first Black Governor of NC. We have played the long game and put a$$hole like Tillis in the Senate although he is universally disliked in the State. It is about taking and retaining power. The RATS understand this better than we do.

I will say this and I expect to be slammed for it, Trump is myopic. In the big picture all he sees is Trump. It has cost him in the last few elections. Endorsing political loser because they pander to him. As the RATS have shown us, it's about power and control not personalities. Trump has to stop looking in his magic mirror and endorse some people he may not like or do not like him. Get them into office to solidify conservative control of the GOP. Make sure they know who put them in office so like or not they follow his lead.

DeSantis always behind by double digits in the average of all the polls.

The vast majority of endorsements from Florida are going to Trump.

It's for DeSantis to save what's left of his reputation, announce he won't run and endorse Trump.
