The United States is ready to begin training Ukraine forces on how to use and maintain donated Abrams tanks as it continues to fast track efforts to get them onto the battlefield against Russia, U.S. officials said Friday.
According to officials cited by AP, 31 main battle tanks will arrive at Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany early in May and the troops will begin 10 weeks of training soon after.
The heavy armor will not be the examples given to Ukraine as it fights against Russia’s invasion. Instead, another 31 M1A1 battle tanks are being refurbished in the U.S. and those will go to the frontlines when ready.

2 companies of tanks isn’t going to make any difference on a front the size of Ukraine.
Military history is full of stories about this. From every conflict. Must not read much.
Fortunately for your friends, the training won’t be over until around the first week of August and the actual tanks’ arrival is not known.
That’s two divisions, not 2 companies, including the Leopard 1s & 2s; used in one place will make a huge difference. There is no military need to spread them across the 800 mile front.

I didn’t see anything in the article that said the “Deliveries” will coincide with the completion of training.
Training = 10 Weeks.........Deliveries = When Refurb Done

I think you’re a couple of orders of magnitude off. They’re talking about 31 tanks or roundabouts.
I’m talking about the totality of all the tanks - in 2 divisions - you imagine the Abrams tanks are going to operate in isolation?
Perhaps one company or so in each tank division.

Like everything else, in time the Russians will learn its weaknesses & how to defeat it. Eventually they’ll capture one, or buy one from the most corrupt country in Europe (or Ukraine… but I repeat myself).
They won’t tip the balance, the war will grind on with death, destruction, blood and treasure lost by all.
And the neocons and warmongers will cheer.
Russia is the most corrupt nation in Europe.
So you got that wrong, and warmongers are the ones supporting the invading nation, the one making war on its neighbor, and that won’t stop.

Or warmongers being the ones creating the war and opposing ending their invasion, therefore ending the war they started and are conducting?
The competition is in improving and Ukraine is winning that competition, they are moving away from that reputation.
Russia may not be competing to improve, because they are slipping further down in the corruption ratings.
