Yeah, I've heard rumors that I might have a bit of French blood. [Don't spread it around.]
Well, there’s an IQ icebreaker for a party...
Let’s see, how would they like it if Brad Pitt got cast as Martin Luther King Jr. ?
Well, maybe he needs to change the channel when he sees something he doesn’t like.
My husband is a ham radio guy; and we once attended a meeting where Riley Hollingsorth, former enforcement agent for Amateur Radio at the FCC, was speaking.
There’s always ‘One Big Knob’, and it’s a useful principle to remember. (If you aren’t into ham radio, most of this will be boring; but my point is expressed between 9:40 and 15.57)

I guess you have DNA results to prove that?
:-)
Well, according to those who take everything in the Bible literally, we’re all descended from one man and one woman; so we’re all kin.
(I’m a mostly British mutt, except for a little Italian, a little more French and German, and the family legend of some aboriginal American...I guess someone back in the 1600s may have ‘gone native’.)
I’ve been meaning to ask: does anyone know where they got the actual blind assassin to play John Wick’s antagonist in the latest installment? I thought he was awesome! But, I’d hate to think he took a spot that a real blind assassin deserved. At least he was Asian IRL, so there’s that.
I know you’re joking, but Donnie Yen is awesome!
That guy in Ip man was incredible.
“the Blacks” - by that you mean sub-Saharan African.
They did have great empires like the Mali empire
Or if we consider Ethiopia as sub-saharan (not sure), then THAT was a great kingdom, empire and civilization — and still is
Actually, linguistically and to some extent genetically, the Egyptians, the Berbers, the Canaanites and the Israelites are all part of the same people - Afro-Asiatic speakers - who split 8KYA.
The Canaanites and Israelites are genetically and linguistically similar
Their culture is steeped in steaming tribalism.
Their achievements and progress are undeniable.
If you go inland anywhere, they operate advanced low emissions lifestyles. They live in mud huts, don’t have electricity, running water, no ice boxes, televisions, cars...
This is the lifestyle the obamanites want to impose on America.
Christ too.
Ask James Cone, Mr. Black Liberation Theology
Have you read “Guns, Germs and Steel”? by Jared Diamond?
The sub-saharan Africans - of which there are 3 races:
1. Khoi-san (bushmen)
2. pygmies
3. bantu speakers
all had it great before the end of the last ice age in 10K BC — they had food plenty and warmth. The rest of the world was a frozen spitball (I exaggerate), but they had it good.
The same for the Aborigines in Australia and then the early migrants to the Americas.
But later, with the agricultural revolution, things changed.
I liken it to the sea-change in European countries’ fortunes after 1492 and 1495 — until that point in time the countries on the Mediterranean basin like Genoa, Venice etc. were rich. But then the Atlantic facing countries got rich
Wasn’t the Mali empire founded in Islam, flesh and gold trading by the mid easterners?
No, the Malian empire was founded by Sundiata Keita and was traditional West African religion.
So you would be fine with Malcolm X being portrayed by Miley Cyrus?
Try replacing a movie about Harriet Tubman with a white woman or MLK with a white man and see what happens.
In my opinion the Black theology movement is an American phenomenon like the Mormons, Pre-Tribulation rapture, Jehovah’s witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists and Christian Scientists - arose in the 1800s in very specifically American circumstances.
Slavery is not exclusive to black or dark skinned peoples as we all know, but it became exclusively like that in North America in the 1800s until the civil war. And the lingering effects of that prejudice lasted.
I think it died out in the 60s and 70s, but then a counter-reaction has created a yo-yo effect of escalating alienation and prejudice.
How can we solve this? I don’t know.
I do know that I don’t feel safe when I am in a poor black area, but then I don’t feel safe when in a poor white Cockney area of East London or in an Arab souk.
So, I don’t know the solution or even how to get there — thank goodness I ain’t a politician!
my 3 c — if it was a musical with Miley Cyrus as the axe wielding demon-hunting MLK Jr - yeah, ok. It’s fiction.
But if it was stated to be a documentary, then NOkay
