Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is back on the Hill after a lengthy hospital stay to treat clinical depression. What started as a few weeks' stay turned into weeks with reports that the Pennsylvania Democrat wouldn’t be released until mid-April. Fetterman’s doctors were reportedly trying to figure out his medication. As soon as that news broke, the former Braddock mayor was discharged on March 31. We’re glad that the senator is doing better with his mental health issues, but it doesn’t mitigate the cognitive ones impacting his ability to do his job.
Mr. Fetterman suffered a severe stroke in April of 2022, which sidelined him for weeks. He almost died. Instead of bowing out, he exhausted the critical period for recovery to hit the campaign trail, a decision that those close to him might have led to permanent brain damage. It’s evident. Mr. Fetterman is the chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and the opening remarks didn’t go well. Even the Washington Post had to include he stumbled a bit:

It’s inevitable that there is a worst Senator. With this guy around, it’s no contest. Good job, Democrats!
Fetterman has suffered from damage to the part of his brain that processes language. Without being inside his head, it’s difficult to say what he is experiencing. Apparently spoken words are ‘going in’ wrong and ‘coming out’ wrong. Have no idea how written words appear to him.
And since we think in words, he may be having trouble even thinking. Even if his thought process is fine, it is obvious that he has serious problems expressing those thoughts.
This is not making fun of him. His disability is not his fault, but is he capable of effectively representing Pennsylvania in the Senate?
From a purely political way of looking at it, should we be urging his being replaced by a more effective democrat?
ChatGPT would at least understand the text it was reading. Fetterman does not.
Whodda thunk the Pennsys would send a goon to the Senate. What a disgrace.
Sounds like he has potential to be HHS, ED, AG, FBI, etc director.
Reminds me of a line from Tropic Thunder:
“You don’t go full reta....”
He’s a CHAIRMAN of a Committee!!! OMG!! The DEMS are even MORE EVIL than I thought yesterday!!
It’s the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. Neither high-profile ror important.
Any compassion I might have had is completely eradicated by the fact that this fraudulently elected POS and his enablers would lock all of us up in Soviet style psychiatric wards if they thought they could get away with it.
A chair can be a useful, beautiful, and wonderful thing.
Fetterman and his enablers have none of those characteristics.
John Fetterman opening remarks to the Senate:
I’m John Fetterman, good night!
Thank you John, for being here and your wit.

Reading prepared script is difficult for most morons.
Pennsylvania is a commonwealth, not a state. And I and many other Pennsylvanians didn’t vote for this moron. However, his opponent, Dr. Oz, was a carpetbagger thrust on us by Donald Trump. If he’d stayed out of the race, or thrown his support behind David McCormick, Fetterman would have lost.
So, don’t tar the entire commonwealth with your ignorant comment. The rural parts of Pennsylvania are strongly Republican, but we’re outvoted by Democrats in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh who are mostly union types who vote for anything with a D after its name. And those cities are massively corrupt cesspools who have voted Democrat for generations.
By the way, Pennsylvania coal and natural gas are heating and cooling homes all over the east coast and fueling industry. If it weren’t for brave, hardworking Pennsylvania coal miners and gas well workers, the whole country would grind to a halt.
