Speaking on The Benny Show, DeSantis said: ‘Why would you want to drink Bud Light? I mean, like, honestly that’s like them rubbing our faces in it and it’s like these companies that do this, if they never have any response, they’re just going to keep doing it.
‘So, if you as a consumer are like … “Like, yeah, they’re doing that, but I’m just going to keep drinking anyways.” Well, then they’re going to keep doing it.’
‘You know, my wife and I, they (bars) don’t have (Budweiser) here if we ever go out to just have a beer — which admittedly we don’t have the opportunity to do that like we used to, you know — we actually like the stout, Guinness.
‘Years ago we went to Dublin, we went to some other places, and we’ve always been a fan ever since,’
Ironically, just last Christmas, Guinness’s parent company Diageo (same as Anhueiser Busch to Bud Light) ran an ad in strong support of the transgender community.
The ad follows an elderly man who begins to secretly teach himself how to apply makeup.
The grandfather can be seen using red lipstick from his wife and buying eyeshadow, before locking himself in his bathroom to practice making himself up.
Then the man’s family arrives for the holidays, at which point he gestures for his transgender granddaughter to follow him into the bathroom. He applies a full face of makeup to his grandchild.

OMG, Guinness...that is a DISGUSTING commercial.
I haven’t had Guinness in years and that’s it...never again.
I’ve been enjoying Deschutes Brewery’s “Black Butte Porter” the past couple months as we head into spring. The small breweries don’t pull this crap. At least, I haven’t seen any of it, but it wouldn’t surprise me to find some marketing to the perverts, freaks and weirdos.
DeSantis’ people didn’t do their homework. Guiness led the charge to have perverts in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade under their own banner (they were aloud to be in the parade as Irish, as long as they didn’t scare the horses before). Guiness has been a bad actor for a LONG time.

I’ve rejected Guinness since their St. Patrick’s Day debacle boycott debacle back in 2014, in support of homosexuals marching under their own banner. Doesn’t seem like nine years running.
I haven’t looked into whether or not O’Hara’s Irish stout (an independent brewery located in Carlow; not always easy to get in the US) have ever done political/cultural advertising, but I don’t think they have. They would be the only Irish stout I’d buy these days; Murphy’s and Beamish did the same thing as Guinness back in 2014.
no florida brews?
San Diego's Stone Brewing released "I'm Peach" Double IPA in 2018 as a jab at Trump. They make a lot of good beers, but I haven't bought one in 5 years, and that will continue. Plenty of great beers out there that don't have an agenda. Shut up and brew.
No kidding. He should have played it safe.
Cigar City Brewing makes some drinkable stuff.
Or he could have just said Yuengling!
What Im not getting is why so many around here are rushing to push not just another big name beer but something as spectacularly bad as Guiness.
The ones who arent pushing that crap are pushing brands that were Inbev until they were forced to be sold to MolsonCoors! Because, yknow, theres no way the other big multinational corp is gonna take your money and screw you over tomorrow.
Its cola wars and Ford V Chevy all over again and gives the same kinds of idiots something to be entertained.
“Plenty of great beers out there that don’t have an agenda.”
Exactly right! We have a dozen outstanding local breweries in the Coeur d’Alene, ID area. If one pulls crap, you just switch to another.
Like you, Stone Brewing would have been off my list forever and immediately after pulling that crap. I’m surprised that happened in San Diego and not the more liberal kook parts of CA.
Yeah, you can’t know every little detail about a product’s backing of culture issues. I could never stand Guinness beer. It tastes like cough syrup that went bad.
was just shopping online
bud light 12pk 15.09 on sale 12.99
What Bud Light does is more important than what Guinness’s does, just because of market position. It is like McDonalds and a local restaurant chain. Even if the small chain does something much worse, McDonalds is still more important because they are McDonalds.
Kind of unrelated but I haven’t had Guinness in years, but I bought a 6 pack of it the a month ago, not to really drink but for my Simple beer bread recipe I make about every week or two weeks. I kind of liked the stuff when I drank it a long time ago. I was surprised after I pour it that I got no head from it, which really surprised me. I might of gotten something made months ago like 6 months ago, but my gut feeling is for some reason the recipe is not the same as when I drank it many years ago, and I also drank it when I visited Ireland while being stationed in England back at the end of the cold war, so what gives was it bad spoiled beer, or should I have bought the Extra stout Guinness Beer, Either way if I ever buy anymore Stout beer I might try to buy something made in some small micro brewery in Tennessee or some state close to Tennessee.
At least Guiness is a decent beverage. But I don’t approve of their new outlook. They are anything but stout.
I tried it once; I swear I was drinking motor oil.
Guinness=Pennzoil masquerading as beer
Some of them very much do.
I know of a microbrewery that is planning on a rainbow beer as a response to the Bud Light controversy.
