Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday said Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s praise for the 21-year-old Air National Guardsman who was arrested last week for leaking classified military documents was “one of the most irresponsible statements she could make.”
“If you’re a member of the military intelligence community and you disagree with American policy and you think you’re going to be okay when it comes to leaking classified information, you’re going to go to jail,” Graham said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday. “It’s one of the most irresponsible statements she could make.”
Hours after the arrest of Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira on Thursday, Greene tweeted: “Jake Teixeira is white, male, christian, and antiwar,” Greene said on Twitter on Thursday. “That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime. And he told the truth about troops being on the ground in Ukraine and a lot more.”
The leaked documents, some of which U.S. officials have indicated are doctored, showed NATO intelligence about the war in Ukraine, including death tolls and the training of Ukrainian troops. A subset of Republicans who had already soured on U.S. support of the war have used the documents as an argument against the amount of American involvement in the conflict.
Graham offered a scorching rebuke of such criticisms, saying it would “destroy America’s ability to defend itself.”
“What they’re suggesting will destroy America’s ability to defend itself,” Graham said. “That it’s OK to release classified information based on your political views. That the ends justify the means. And for any member of Congress to suggest it’s OK to leak classified information because you agree with the cause is terribly irresponsible and puts America in serious danger.”

The kid exposed the fact the American people are being lied to in one of the biggest propaganda efforts in history. No American lives are at stake here.
The kid is an American hero.
I call Lindsey a Rat Fink
Did Graham condemn Vidman, one of the Tweedle-dee twins?
Nope, Someone needs to remind POS Lindy of that.
Agree. He may have saved countless American lives.
I call Graham a Deep Stater.
MTG was just flat out wrong
Did you read her quote?
The only thing she was wrong about was not praising him as a patriot.
I did
When you take a Jon with a security clearance you take an oath not to disclose
This yob broke his oath and his duty. I don’t care the rationale
Poor Goose, things haven’t been the same since Maverick bit the dust. Linda and company are hated and despised by almost everyone other than Sean Hannity, but somehow, they have no clue about this and really do not care.
Agreed. Max sentence for this joker. Picking and choosing which laws you’re going to follow is the lib thing, not ours
It’s been a long time since I agreed with Graham on anything. But on this I agree.
Linda needs to shut up.
This kid sacrificed himself for the greater good. We have terrible leadership which has been lying their ever-loving asses off, and getting closer to starting WWIII than we have been before over something which has no real strategic value to the US. THANK GOD THERE ARE STILL A FEW PEOPLE LEFT IN OUR MILITARY WHO HAVE THE COHONIES TO PULL THE CHAIN!!!

I’d feel a lot better about agreeing to execute traitors under the Espionage Act if people’s outrage weren’t so damn selective.
Careerists that sold secrets to foreign governments for personal monetary gain are doing time in Leavenworth. We already know how loose our elected representatives are with secrets and whom they put on their staffs. They get to keep their heads.
A 21yo E-low posts secrets on the internet to settle a debate with his gamer buddies? Off with his! /s
There’s a chance this is all a big FedGov deep-state head-fake, anyway. There are NCOs and officers in that 21yo’s chain of command that deserve scrutiny, too. Stuff like that doesn’t pass into an E-low’s hands unless it was put there or left out to be taken. That stuff is supposed to be secured. Physically or electronically.
Such leaks are very bad, whether we applaud hearing them for our own reasons or not. The leaks themselves, no matter their content, no matter which way that content informs us, hurts our ally relationships immensely, and no matter how one U.S. political group thinks they hurt some other U.S. political group, it is not America’s political groups that foreigners start to distrust, but America itself.
These leaks can have a long term positive benefit, if they are followed up by means and methods that prevent such leaks again. Time and history have shwon that does not happen. New holes in secure systems and procedures develop as fast as the hold ones are plugged and it always depends on EVERYONE with the right security clearances to honor them. That does not prevent someone from betraying the trust those clearances provide.
We should no morew applaud the leaks than we should applaud a very wrongly ruled legal decision merely because we liked the results. Damages to our systems are just that - damages, and no cause for applause.
The kid needs a congressional medal.
No he didn’t. He wanted to show off to his gaming buddies
His motives were not only wrong but dangerous
IF he had the pure motives all y’all subscribe to him he could’ve gone to a member of Congress or the press. He posted it to his gaming board to show off
