New York City police chief Jeffrey Maddrey abused his power by cutting a friend and former colleague loose after he was arrested for threatening three Brooklyn teenagers with a gun, an independent review found, highlighting a problem with corruption and abuse of power in New York City.
The New York City’s Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) backed the non-criminal charge against Maddrey, who had been accused of using his influence to nullify the arrest of retired New York City cop Krysthoff Forrester in November 2021, the New York Post reported on Saturday.
“After carefully reviewing the evidence, the full board deliberated this case and substantiated misconduct against Chief Maddrey,” said CCRB Interim Chair Arva Rice.
Forrester allegedly chased three Brooklyn teens aged 12, 13, and 14 with a gun after the teens accidentally threw a basketball into a security camera placed outside a building owned by Forrester and his family.

The rule of law is dead....and it died long ago.
Bring back Guiliani....Ray Kelley...Bill Bratton...and the problem is solved. Season 12 Episode 19 Review: Tangled Up in Blue
Eddie: Your dad won’t let an innocent man hang.
Jamie: No. He can’t come near this. No one in my family can.
Eddie: Why?
Jamie: The minute it even looks like strings are pulled, I’m done. I’ll never have the respect of my cops again.
Had he not threatened these NYC "teenagers" with a gun, he might have been another crime statistic. At 12, 13 and 14 they're out to earn their street cred, to become full-fledged gangbangers.
