“No, the dead victim will get none of that.”
You forgot the bagpipes.
Just because you’re not doing anything wrong doesn’t mean they won’t kill you anyway.
And then get away with it.
Because ‘officer safety’.
‘Ah wuz in feer fur mah life’
All that matters is the cops went home safe that night, sorry ‘bout that citizen, but cops are more important than you are!
“I never understood why police chiefs for even moderate-sized cities pin three or four stars on their collars like they’re generals commanding a corps or army/”
Have you seen the meme of Eisenhower and Milley? Milley has a chest full of ribbons and badges. Eisenhower had two.
"Why officers approached the wrong address remains part of the ongoing investigation," Farmington police said.
Moreover, they went to the guy's house in the middle of the night too. What did they expect him to have in his hand? Cake and balloons?
Sounds like the whole bureaucratic system is f***ed up
I still feel the ultimate root of the problem is not local cops. The source is from the top/Fed.gov. IMHO they created this whole atmosphere of anti-terror, security state, overwhelming force, midnight raids, and cops kitted out like seal-team six.
Because if the police are not civilians, what are they?
I wonder how much time you spend complaining about police versus sitting on your ass and doing nothing.
Yeah, that’s always been a pet peeve of mine.
You are police officers, constables, night watchmen, security guards, law men, peace officers, sheriffs, and deputies.
You are NOT soldiers, sailors, Marines or Airmen.
What’s your excuse.
It wasn’t a drug bust. They got a call for a domestic disturbance. When nobody answered the door they called dispatch to confirm the address. As they were walking away to check the address, the homeowner flung the door open and raised a gun toward the police.
The reason is because people like you do nothing but sit on your ass and complain.
Stories like this make it hard to back the Blue.
1:11. You can see the number "5305" on the house.I really don't care to finish watching this.2:37: Officer asks to call the house of the reported domestic and have someone come to the door.
3:16: Officers discuss address, forgetting they should have seen the house number when the approached the house.
One ask if they are at the right address.3:37: Officer sees someone approaching door and backs up.
3:39: Officer has gun and gun light on door with homeowner opening door.
(I can see it, homeowner has a gun)3:40: Officer says hands up and starts shooting.
(To me it sounds like shots were fired before the officer finished speaking).
How exactly did you ever back the blue?
bkmk
I worked at a place that did formal training for Law Enforcement in Alabama.
They are actually trained to shoot first. The goal is “Every officer gets to go home after work.”
No such sentiment for the dead civilians, though.
As a retired LEO of 25 years I can say that was one of the worst shoots videos I have ever seen. Who’s training these guys, Bevis and Butthead?
Thanks for the link.
Eh? You got a reason for that vitriol?
Surely that’s not why police chiefs wear general’s insignia?
The most important thing is that those officers got home safely to their families. /s
They knew they screwed up the address and when they heard the homeowner approaching said “of shit” and backed off. Blinded by a flashlight, there was no way for the homeowner to know it was police. No way he would have heard the cops voice from back in his bedroom. When the homeowner approached the door, they should have shouted POLICE! to ensure he knew.
You get the government you deserve and by extension the police you deserve. If you aren’t actively involved in politics by running for office, recruiting candidates or in some way being involved in law enforcement you get what you deserve. If your police are incompetent or corrupt it’s because you are incompetent and corrupt. Stop deflecting blame and take responsibility for your government.
