Great news: Pentagon still can't explain "jackthedripper's" access to leaked material

None of the rest of us could explain how an enlistee in the Air National Guard got his hands on highly classified military and diplomatic intelligence leaked over the past few months. Now it turns out that the Pentagon doesn’t have a good answer for that question, either. The Wall Street Journal refers to it as “among the most puzzling questions” of the case, and the Pentagon’s lack of explanation for it is not building much confidence in opsec:

The leak was “a deliberate criminal act, a violation of those guidelines,” Pentagon press secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said Thursday.

“We continue to review those distribution lists, update them, make sure there’s a need to know,” he said. “And so all indications are, again, this was a criminal act, a willful violation of those, and again, another reason why we’re continuing to investigate and support [the Justice Department’s] investigation.”

Jack Teixeira served in the 102nd Intelligence Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, based on Cape Cod. What would the MANG “need to know” about Mossad communications, Russian and Ukrainian military operations, and diplomat communications? The former chief of Massachusetts Homeland Security, Juliette Kayyem, doesn’t have an explanation for it either:

This entire story smells so fishy, I'm not sure how the media is actually reporting the narrative from the government officials without gagging from the smell!

There is absolutely no way that a 21 year-old National Guardsman tech worker had access to such a wide range of information. I'm not in the military, but even I know that! Oh, I guess it is possible he is guilty of something in regards to leaking information, but if so, I would venture he was "guided" into doing so to the point he was encouraged to start bragging about his access to information on gaming sites.

However, I'm not even sure about that. There was reports he had searched the term "leaks" on his computer. That sounds as if it was someone who had just realized what they had done and was trying to find out the exact terms that apply to determine whether or not he was guilty of such a thing.

I think this guy was a patsy who has suddenly found out he has been "played".

Right, sure....a 21 year old National Guard member has access to these “Top Secret” documents. Looks like someone (the janitor) fished them out of a trash can after they had been thrown out by someone magnitudes’ more incompetent.

Maybe, but don’t underestimate the incompetence of the bureaucracy.

He was in intelligence.

I have no trust in what the government says. As for the media, they are stenographers for government, even the military these days. They have reported only a scant bit of the leaked information. The leaked information is almost as newsworthy as the Pentagon or Afghanistan Papers. So not only the media just repeats what the government says, they also remain silent when told to do so.

There is still a possibility that the leaked info is intentional misinformation from our government. I wouldn’t put it pass our government ruin the life of a 21-year old guardsman to make the misinformation more believable.

This entire story smells so fishy...

The default position of the Biden Administration is to lie, even if the lies are so absurd that only an absolute retard would believe them.

Yes, this story stinks.

So many questions that will have sketchy answers that the suspect will end up not killing himself.

He is an IT Tech with a military intelligence unit...that gives him exposure to the DOD “Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System” or “JWICS”. He may not be on the “distribution list” for certain intel, but could probably access it if he wanted to (”bad actor”/rule breaker).

The media may report such, but I don’t believe it. I haven’t been in the military but have family and friends who have been. They have never heard of such a low-level young National Guard member having access to such a wide range of information.

It is very possible is he had the clearance. They just go browsing on the classified network and print it.

He probably didn’t have official access to the information, but as an IT tech he would know how to get it if he wanted to. i.e. log in to “JWICS” as one of the members of your unit that does have access...he is the one in charge of log-ins/passwords, etc. for the unit. It is a National Guard unit...less “stringent”/formal shall we say. You would be surprised what a “low-level” IT person can get away with if they have bad intentions...they get the call when the CO forgets their password. ;-)

Being an IT Geek means he would have access to the servers where this stuff was stored on. Don’t excuse his actions though. IT Geeks think they are Lord of the Networks. They are for most network users.

“#FalseFlagLeak”

Indeed. Some people think that since government officials have such a honored and true history of being honest with the American people about such matters, that there is no way that they would be telling us something that was not true.

(I can’t believe I managed to type the above sentence with a straight face, but I did).
