Trump; A doctor in a south American country complained all their mental patients were being released into the U.S.

Are there any 2nd Amendment restrictions at this event?
To: PatriotarchyQ
In the main convention area, no restrictions. I attended one of the conventions where Trump spoke (2017, I think? It was in Atlanta that year) and security to get into that ticketed speaking event was VERY tight. I assume that security was being handled by secret service. At the last minute, the NRA event wound up arranging lockers for attendees to store their firearms in before going thru security (I just handed mine off to a friend who wasn't attending Trump's event, and she double-carried for a while.)
Side note: I remember seeing Don Jr. in the convention hall, with secret service following him around & looking none-too-pleased that he was calmly wandering around and checking out the booths while surrounded by thousands of armed, peaceful citizens. I still smile at the memory.

So security over freedom on the speaking floor? Gun grabber “logic” winning the day there.
To: PatriotarchyQ
Anywhere a former president goes, there are restrictions. Kind of a no brainer, since Trump and his family have received more threats than any president in U.S. history.
Trump has all the right enemies so it makes sense, right?

Would you prefer anyone with a gun be able to approach and or get close to Trump?

At the time of the Atlanta NRA convention, he wasn’t even a former president. He was IN office.
To: NoLongerTrappedInNY
What does that mean? Are we not talking about the NRA meeting in Indianapolis today?

Sigh. You responded to someone who responded to my comment regarding Trump speaking at a previous NRA convention when he was actually in office. No biggie.

I was reading the posers comments and my comments were directed at the poser. I wasn’t reading your comments.

You realize that the second amendment applies to government only, right. A private function can make their own rules.
