You don’t do diplomacy by insulting your opponents. Butter them up first.
Xi and Putin have both been disastrous leaders for their countries. Xi has antagonized all of China’s neighbors and almost wrecked their commercial relationship with the USA. Putin has done what was previously thought impossible, recruited Finland & Sweden to join NATO. So I am not favorably impressed by Trump’s judgement, although it might make it easier for him to deal with Russia and China if he succeeds in becoming President again, which I don’t expect.
lol...he gasses them up so he can deal with them. Calling them scumbag tyrants and threatening war never seems to make things better. The only momentum weve had in the last 20 years slowing either of them down was during a short 3 year window.... “praising” them to their faces while slapping them around in real life.
Sick people can be extremely intelligent. That can be dangerous but not as dangerous as a freaking brain-dead pervert like the one who is now occupying the WH. We are in BIG trouble. Especially since the Republicans don’t have the ability to work together on goals.

I heard the Tucker interview with Trump and I understood Trump was making a point that these leaders of adversarial countries are all smart, intelligent people and to deal with them the US needs smart, intelligent people.
Trump didn’t say, but we all know that the USA DOES NOT have smart, intelligent people leading the us.
“Brilliant”, “Smart”, and “Very tough” are not antonyms for “tyrannical”.
This sort of Trump behavior doesn’t bother me. I figure he knows denigrating other leaders with whom he might need to negotiate would be stupid. Why not be gracious towards them in case discussions are required to preserve peace? Perhaps they would reciprocate. It’s better than demonizing them, which often portends open kinetic hostilities.
It’s true. If a dictator is a ruthless genius it’s not praise but just stating fact.
It sounds weird because I and I think others like to hear these despotic evil men criticized condemned and belittled.

I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. If he’s the GOP nominee in 2024 I will probably vote for him again. But I do hope that someone else is the GOP nominee, because I think that Trump is an almost certain loser.

Hitler had an IQ of over 140 and was a very congenial host and socially adept. He was also a tyrant/monster. You can praise the man and condemn thr man’s work. Intelligence can be used for evil or for good. The choice is for them to make.
