Batteries not included.
They should put the same technology on fire extinguishers.
NOPE
No more wearing gloves in cold weather.
Never is a long time. A firearm is a mechanical device, as such, safety measures, including a manual safety switch, can, and do, fail.
I wouldn't touch one of these things, ever. That is, IF I owned guns, but I lost mine, in a tragic, tragic boating accident..
Might be cool if they make it in the Judge Dredd Lawgiver model
But, even that can be hacked.
This firearm might be ready for primetime once it has been tested and implemented by all law enforcement, including Secret Service and also private security for elected officials. It if works for them, then it might work for me. Until then, aside from the novelty, I’ll pass.

That’s when you need facial recognition. Point it at your face and if it recognizes you it’ll shoot.
Democrats will pass a bill to make sure that the fingerprint gun will include technology that recognizes a human at the other end, and doesn’t fire.

LMAO! The “asylum-seeking” invaders are right. America is the biggest asylum on the planet.
Agree. My concern would be that if the fingerprint recognition is of the same quality as the system on my phone, it would refuse to fire for me when needed without multiple attempts to reset my hand position.
Biofire’s diverse group of backers includes early funders of Google, Airbnb, SpaceX, Tesla, Flatiron Health, and GitHub.
CEO, Kai whatever....
NO thank you. EVER.
If they work as good as a lot of “smart” devices do these days I wouldn’t count on them being available when needed. Criminals, on the other hand, will quickly learn how to bypass that guns “brain”.
So you pay a fortune for one of these bright liberal ideas and authorize your wife to shoot it. The next she finds out about your new girlfriend while down at the hair salon. This is material for a Rodney Carrington song.
My wife has faint fingerprints. She can barely get a Smartphone to recognize them after repeated tries.
A Smartphone has a LOT more computing power than a handgun would have.
Isn’t that what you’d call a red hot suppository?
I have fingerprint recognition on my laptop and facial recognition on my tablet. Both work well. Password login is also available.
There are people who are concerned about children getting firearms, either from their parents or from their teachers. Fingerprint recognition might make some parents and teachers more willing to have a pistol on hand for self-defense and the defense of children.
I’m sure there are downsides. Price is one. What else? A sweaty finger fails to operate the gun when needed? What else?
