Years ago I took an economics extension class taught by an African man who had a doctorate..the class studied co ops and grocery stores, and determined prices were higher in ghetto areas than the suburbs, attributed to more crime so the poorer people had to pay more for food unless they went out of the ghetto to suburbs to shop.
The professor explained he had two choices in Africa, to work in the diamond mines for little pay or try and smuggle out diamonds to sell or go to school..he chose the latter. He had real contempt for American blacks who he felt had all the opportunity in the world and most did not take advantage of it.
Interesting. My MD is Nigerian, Yes, a black guy. Best doc ever. Good Christian, too. He’s more than a doctor, we’ve become friends.
I once lived in a suburb of LA and drove through a Mexican/Black area on the way home, nice enough area. Stopped for a few groceries a couple of times and the prices were higher and quality lower than stores in white areas. Not OK, but I guess it’s because of theft losses. Or maybe not.
That’s typical of most Africans I’ve met. They don’t have the pathologies of the American born blacks of African descent.
I used to work with a guy who immigrated from Nigeria when he was nine. He was a very good hard working young man.
My nephew was in pharmacy college and had a class that a bunch of blacks were trying to highjack and get easy grades simply because they were black, poor and deserved the grades without the work. They threw the race card, disrupted class and filed complaints about the professor. This was a reputable university in the pharmacy field.
Finally one day a white female student said hey would you stop this continuous interruption of the class I have to have this to graduate and I’m paying for it. A black female said I don’t care if you are or not. To which the white student said aren’t you not upset you are wasting your money for this class? The black female said, I’m not paying for any of this, it’s free and I’m poor so be quite!
A male from Thailand was in the class and was friends with my nephew and had watched all this and heard this exchange and he spoke up and said to the black student: did you have a place to live growing up? Yes. Did you have head and AC? Yes. Did you have running water and a bathroom? Yes. Did you have food to eat when you wanted it? Yes. Did you have clothes to wear and a school to go too? Yes came the reply from her with attitude!
He said they you need to STFU because you don’t know sh*t about being poor! Then proceeded to tell how he slept in an open hut, no heat of AC, no bathrooms, the want for food daily, the want for clean water and not even clothes to wear many years of his youth. And that you all don’t know real poverty and stop making excuses, just do the work, drop the class or STFU! That sort of ended the attempt to take over this class by the blacks in it.
