Russia warns airlines of danger from erupting volcano

Moscow: A significant volcanic eruption in Kamchatka, a peninsula in far-eastern Russia, has prompted the Federal Agency for Air Transport, Rosaviatsiya, to issue a strong recommendation to aircraft to evaluate their flight paths.
Rosaviatsiya said that the Bezymianny volcano, one of the most active in the area and located in the eastern section of the peninsula, erupted on Friday morning with a 12,000-meter column of ash that subsequently began to drift towards the southeast.

Makes sense. Russia already told the Neocon countries to find new flight routes. The flights now over Russian airspace are only flown by friendly countries.

A family friend went hunting there. He flew out of Moscow and said there were nothing but fur trees for hours and hours of flying. He said it was beautiful though.

Since the Kamchatca Peninsula is on the eastern most part of Russia and the jet stream flows from west to east all of the ash would immediately be carried out into the Pacific, to the east, where numerous airlines might have routes that don't pass over an inch of Russian territory.
And, since you probably went to a Canadian school, I regret to inform you that Canada is east of Kamchatka and will probably have ash fall.
