The reason this tragic abuse of government power has gone unchecked for nearly three years - is because Texans don’t want the government to have too much power.

I said that Texas was founded by people trying to get away from too much government, which is an undeniable historical fact. I did not say that Texas is now being run by people who don't want the government to have too much power.

Throughout human history, those in power tend to want more power and to abuse the power that they have.

What tragedy?

Abbott appoints the board that rubber stamps his pardons.

Apologies.

My scorn should not have been directed toward you - but rather at the OP, who was lecturing us that we should all to be patient, and respect the slow wheels of Texas justice, which was designed to “limit government power”.

Screw that. It took the Texas Government no time at all to convict an innocent man for defending himself against crazed BLM rioters. Where were these alleged limits of power three years ago when they were needed? Yet we are supposed to be patient with the pardoning process dragging on three years and counting.
