There’s nothing like sitting in a sling seat of a C-130 mere INCHES from a tied down TANK the size of a house, to make you wonder about your insignificant life as a whole!

True story.
I flew into Tuzla, Bosnia in a C-130 in 1995. The Serbs painting the aircraft with their SAM radar across border, as, I found out later, they always did.
We were part of a big team doing security work and since the pilots had a full load of passengers, they thought they’d be funny...
Anyway, we heard the missile lock radar warning going off (very loud!) and they dropped about 1000 feet at the same time. I was not far from the cockpit and thought we were going down. Just as I was about to scream like a little girl (many had already, so I don’t think I’d be alone), they leveled out. I heard chuckling from up front.
Yeah. Funny. Ha-ha, Captain.
