Russia, US are in hot conflict phase — senior diplomat

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Russia and the United States have "already passed through" the Cold War stage in their relations and are now in the phase of a hot conflict, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on the Sputnik radio station on Wednesday.

"I think we have already passed this period (of the Cold War - TASS). Now we are in the phase of a hot conflict with the United States. We are witnessing the direct involvement of that country in a hybrid war with Russia on various fronts," Ryabkov said in response to a question.

He called some forms of this hybrid war, being used by the US, completely unprecedented, which had not existed during the Cold War.

"Unfortunately, there has been much talk about the risk of a nuclear conflict. It's a rather dramatic issue," Ryabkov said. "I must stress that the Russian side is fully committed to the well-known postulates, which have been repeatedly stated recently, including at the highest level, to the effect there can be no winners in a nuclear war and that it must not be unleashed. But the way our American opponents are recklessly, provocatively, and in many respects absolutely carelessly moving up the escalation ladder, the way they are blinded by their absolutely absurd certainty about their ability to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia makes one doubt their mental faculties and their common sense."

Ryabkov emphasized that Russia's opponents were "playing with fire in the truest sense of the word."

"They ought to be aware what any encroachment on our sovereignty, our territorial integrity and our statehood [will entail]. If this trend persists, we will be ready to take all measures and to use all means at our disposal in order to defend ourselves and ensure that our sovereignty be guaranteed. Underestimation of this resolve of ours is perhaps the worst thing that can happen or, conversely, not happen in the minds of our adversaries. We caution them against making fatal mistakes," Ryabkov concluded.

We’re not the good guys.

We stopped being the good guys in 1989 with the election of a Bush.

I even wonder about Vietnam, after we assassinated Ngo Dinh Diem.

You’ve been making bold, pro-Russian proclamations and predictions here for years. Have any of them panned out? No, they all turn out to be lies or at best propaganda.

The Russian Federation is this century’s Sick Old Man of Europe. We just hope he dies in his sleep, rather than thrashing out in protest to his failure.

And NO ONE outside the KGB believes your so-called ‘hand of friendship’ BS. I guess the UKRs just should have accepted Russian friendship, like the Finns should have in ‘39. Every thug in every country pretends to be friendly before they attack. Only Russia is crazy enough to perp that on a national level believing they can trick the world which they show naked contempt for. Nope - all the scumbags in the world, beat Russia to that game.

We are now at the point where ONE event could start WW III—I call it the “Lusitania Moment” but it could well be the “Gulf of Tokin Moment—a fabricated event to start a war. I do not trust the CIA or MI5 not to kick it off. We have seen Ukraine launch rockets into Poland and blame Russia. we have heard of “Dirty Bombs” and “False Flag” operations. Its a question of time. If the Russians start to advance on Kiev, it will happen. Would the CIA blow up an American City with an old Soviet suitcase bomb? Would they shoot a president they don’t like? Would Biden OK it? If it was a Republican city—maybe. Kill 30.000 MAGA Americans might be seen as a positive by Liberals in Power. In the passion of the moment—Most Americans would demand war.

Did I say the US was in the right there? It’s a good point tho.

It’s hard to have a world peace organization when its members clearly don’t believe in it.

Thanks for the hypocrisy, Eleanor!

That’s easy, it’s been fundamentally changed into a hybrid Marxist muslim nation, as promised by BHO.

Only one problem, neither generated achievement, advancent nor progress
Worse yet, both have given their adherents massive suffering and loss of life. Islam holds a monopoly on illiteracy ignorance and poverty. As an aggregate, they are the UN, wanting to dictate life for the west.

I can’t tell the difference between the levels of corruption in the Biden world versus that of Putin or Xi.

"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

Little known fact is that we really won in Vietnam and then the Democrats (communists) in Congress gave that victory away.

If US troops didn’t occupy Hanoi, then we didn’t win.

“I even wonder about Vietnam, after we assassinated Ngo Dinh Diem.”

Oh, so now the Russian-FSB troll is blaming the 1963 Vietnam military coup and Diem’s assassination on America? No, excuse me, you wrote “we” which would be you and the KGB. Possible but not credible, like most of your other posts.

You’ve been making bold DC backing neocon simping statements here for years.

Yes they did spend 20 years offering friendship and normal nation behavior. They let our researchers and writers crawl through the Soviet archives, they let us openly crawl all over their elections in the 90s. They took our economic advice and plundering until they had the equivalent of our Great Depression.
When we were attacked on 9/11 Putin was the first world leader to call Bush. And it wasn’t just thoughts and prayers. They asked to join NATO and were backhanded away. He offered free immediate use of former Soviet airbases around Afghanistan. When Pakistan blocked our overland supply route, they let us ship to Baltic ports and use Russian rails to supply Afghanistan.
They warned us about the Boston bombers several times. They offered church restoration exports to assist with rebuilding Notre Dame. They built a memorial to Katyn Forest. When the Polish Air Force 1 crashed, he reached out in a big way to Poland including having all Russian public TV show the brutally honest Polish made movie Katyn, with panels of historians commentary. Then Putin released the memo with Stalins signature ordering the murders. The first Russian or Soviet leader to admit it was them. He warned us repeatedly not to follow their example into revolutionary socialist madness in the 1920s. They were good partners when we couldn’t get into space. When we were building interceptor missiles in Poland and Romania to supposedly protect the west from Iranian missiles, they offered to join in the effort. They supplied gas to the EU despite Ukrainian theft. They were good partners in Nordstream and it befitted both sides. Their winter Olympic ceremony has nothing Soviet but was filled with ancient culture and was very uplifting… we trashed it with pro- homo hissy fits. They have been on a nonstop orgy of rebuilding churches the Bolsheviks destroyed.

But every single effort was met with sarcasm and disdain.
As you sit somewhere bitterly remembering the Cold War, the facts are very different than you pretend.

Well ever since Truman fired MacArthur the idea that “there is no substitute for victory” is no longer official US policy. The Paris Peace Accords (PPA) were acceptable to us. South V stayed an independent nation which was our goal so in that sense under the PPA we won. When NV broke the PPA Congress refused to allow Nixon to bomb NV back into compliance and shortly there after SV fell.

Agree fully. And the UN was the proto version of WEF world government anyway. FYI, I do oppose it. Hell our man who represented the USA at its founding was Alger Hiss, who turned out to be a Soviet spy! The UN charter stands in opposition to the US Constitution.

That post shows you don’t have the least idea about any of this, I don’t know why you post so much on these threads.

If NATO ever ‘went to war’ with Russia it could go nuclear within two days. That’s how long it would take NATO armored brigades to overrun Moscow. And I do mean overrun. It would be faster than Baghdad.

A pants load of ignorant bullshit.
