Former first lady Melania Trump was noticeably absent from Mar-a-Lago’s ballroom Tuesday night as her husband, former President Donald Trump, made his first public comments hours after becoming the first commander-in-chief in US history to be arraigned on criminal charges.
“I have a great family and they’ve done a fantastic job and we appreciate it very much. They’ve gone through a lot,” the 76-year-old told around 400 supporters at his Palm Beach, Fla., residence and club.
“I have a son here [Don Jr.] who has done a great job, another son here [Eric] who has done a great job, and Ivanka,” added Trump, referring to three of his four adult children.
“And Barron will be great someday,” the former president went on, shouting out his teenage son with third wife Melania. “He is tall and he is smart.”
The former first lady was not singled out for praise…

I noticed both Melania’s absence from the Mar-a-Lago gathering and DJT’s omission when naming his family members last night. Did not see her in NYC yesterday.
This is almost as big of a nothing burger as Trumps charges themselves. SMH
Having fled a communist country, Melania could be so much help to Trump’s campaign. Speeches about communism would be huge. I hope she steps up.

it could be read several ways. trump has a gigantic ego. He may feel slighted by her and thus didnt mention her. Or it could be it is a means to try to protect her by keeping her out of it.
I dont see him as that magnanimous if he could get a benefit from her being there but he might be that thoughtful about his son. So thus, protecting the son.
If it’s Pedo Joe, you bet Dr Jill is there holding his hand, wiping the snot from under his nose, playing the press for sympathy. Trump is a capable man who is strong enough to stand for himself, he protected his wife by letting her avoid the public hate.
She already had her underwear drawers rummaged through by loser, nerd FBI “agents”, do you think she’s going to subject herself to more abuse? Ivanka was not there and neither was waxen Jared, but Tiffany was and that hasn’t really been reported.
I think we are at the VERY real stage where Trump is likely to be a target of assassination.
Melania being with Barron AWAY from DJT in public settings makes sense if you consider that a very real possibility.
It hadn’t even occurred to me that her presence or lack thereof would become a topic. Do most people bring their spouses to their highly televised arraignments? I don’t recall anyone worrying if she was or wasn’t at his other court cases/depositions.
Right after (the same night, or the next night) the announcement was made about the grand jury indictment, a pundit on RAV said he had been with Trumps for dinner at Mar-A-Lago. He said the couple were lovey-dovey and completely together.
