NH Guv. Chris Sununu Sees a Lane to the Left of Trump and DeSantis
Daily Beast ^ | 4/3/23 | Jake Lahut

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts—New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu is not a natural fit for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

He has been outspoken about Jan. 6—how “domestic terrorists attacked our nation’s Capitol.” He supports people getting boosted for COVID-19. He thinks the 2020 election was fair and secure. He even calls himself “pro-choice,” though he also supports restrictions on late-term abortions.

But Sununu is starting to do the things presidential contenders typically do, like showing up at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics last week to tout his governing record—and give his take on a presidential field he may shortly join.

As former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis gear up for a potential primary fight that would shove the GOP even further right, Sununu is trying to bushwhack a path further to the center.

Nikki McRomBush, Asa McRomBush, Tim McRomBush and Chris McRomBush.

We might as well call them Arlen Haley, Arlen Hitchinson, Arlen Scott and Arlen Sununu.

he has a smugness, know-it-all attitude and smart-aleck-iness that i don’t relate to at all. moving to the left seems daft to me.

There are plenty of lanes to the left of MAGA politics. And they are all occupied by Democrat Socialists or “progressive” RINO’s.

Call them what they are, assistant socialists, or flat-out Jacobins.

The ghosts of Robespierre and the French Revolution haunt us still.

His father moved to the left when he pushed the appointment to the Supreme Court of the worthless David Souter, who turned out to be the most reliable far left “justice” on the Court.

If Hutchison and Sununu both get in, Nikki’s 1% could end up getting rounded down to zero.

Ive always said there is nothing that could ever make me vote for a Democrat.... but if Sununu should somehow get a nomination, that just might do it !!

The letter after the name means jack anymore.

The only reason political parties still exist is to give voters the illusion of choice.

A pol is either loyal to our former republic or to Deep State.

Sununu is Deep State.

Sununu should load up his clown car and take that left lane…right into Lake Winnipesauki!

New Hampshire has been infected with the Sununu Plague for far too long!

What is it with New England governors thinking they can run as Republicans? New Hampshire is now just “Massachusetts Lite.” You don’t see Charlie Baker thinking he is “Presidential.” He knows the recent history of MA candidates (Dukakis, Romney, Kerry—although he wasn’t governor.)

I guess Cal Coolidge was good...but that was 100 years ago.

I've attended three Trump rallies...all of them having been in New Hampshire. Hopefully NH will be considered a swing state next year too so he might hold a rally there in the next 18 months. If DJT and Sununu were to hold rallies on the same day, across the street from each other,I'm not sure which one I'd attend.

Do I really need to include a sarcasm tag???
