Sunak says Grooming gang crackdown will defy ‘political correctness’
Guardian ^ | April 3 | Pippa Crerar

Rishi Sunak is to announce new measures to tackle grooming gangs on Monday, claiming that “political correctness” would not get in the way of a crackdown, while his home secretary was accused of “dog whistle” rhetoric over child sexual exploitation.

A new grooming gang taskforce will be set up with specialist officers, supported by the National Crime Agency, helping local forces and offering the use of ethnicity data to assist police investigations.

Before the announcement, Sunak warned that for too long “political correctness has stopped us from weeding out vile criminals who prey on children and young women”. He added: “We will stop at nothing to stamp out these dangerous gangs.”

However, the government faced criticism for its failure to act sooner, with Labour accusing it of a “hopelessly inadequate, belated and narrow” response to a long-term problem.

A crackdown on the Groomers, Freepers? Must be welcomed.

The elephant in the room is their ethnicity...

Natural, the Islamic community jumps up and demands that "race" or ethnicity not be an issue in fighting child sex abuse.
“Any child can be a victim of child sexual exploitation and adult perpetrators do not just come from one background. [...] there must be a focus on more than just race so we do not create new blind spots that prevent victims from being identified.
What jumps out here is that a refusal to look at the race/ethnicity issues creates a blindspot by injecting political correctness into the issue by requiring that "race/ethnicity" be ignored.

It's like trying to solve a problem with shark attacks at a beach by demanding that sharks not be singled out because swimmers also die from drowning.

I have read stories about immigrants hanging round girls bathrooms and such.

It has upset a few people.

The problem is they bring this culture with them.

You can't blame immigrants for "wanting" to bring their cultures with them. That's just human nature (the devil you know vs the devil you don't). And some facets of their old cultures are fine...even healthy and fun (like ethnic food).

It's up to their new country to put a stop to those cultural traits that don't fit (like child rape, honor killings, and "death to all infidels"). And that's all this really is.

As an aside, the new PM is a Hindu. One has to wonder if that's why he was made PM...to handle the problems with Muslim culture in the UK.

That’s quite a list!

Sunak’s pollsters are telling him it’s an issue with voters.

That is the only reason for this.

People are genuinely concerned now but I doubt much will be done other than lip service...

They pick girls from troubled homes and with criminal backgrounds.

They pick those girls because they are low-hanging fruit.

Regarding cultural traits, we have this story of British colonialist in India:

General Sir Charles James Napier, the British Commander-in-Chief in India from 1849 to 1851. It is said that a Hindu delegation protested against the British prohibition of sati, the practice of burning a widow to death on her husband’s funeral pyre, by telling Napier that it was part of their cultural custom. Napier famously responded:

“You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”

Yep. I remember that.

Bringing ethnic food, dance, and music to your new country is one thing. Bringing the bad stuff from your old culture is a non-starter.

The problem with Islam is that it creates a huge amount of sexual frustration among its young men with its general misogynistic attitudes and by discouraging healthy interactions between the sexes.

C’mon. Do you really have a problem with pedophilia?

The Islamic world endorses it due to mohammets interactions with ayesha. He is their model man, the perfect man.
Islam has over 1.8 billion adherents.
Nations upon nations support child brides.

Like flies to afresh crap... They can’t all be wrong can they?

Keep in mind that the majority of the UN is driven by their interests.

This is the same UN glorified by Obama.

You raise a good point.

On top of that, why work hard at a job when you can just raid your neighbor, kill him, take his property, and make his wife and daughters your sex slaves.

The Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal consisted of the organised child sexual abuse that occurred in the town of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, Northern England from the late 1980s until the 2010s and the failure of local authorities to act on reports of the abuse throughout most of that period. Researcher Angie Heal, who was hired by local officials and warned them about child exploitation occurring between 2002 and 2007, has since described it as the "biggest child protection scandal in UK history". Evidence of the abuse was first noted in the early 1990s, when care home managers investigated reports that children in their care were being picked up by taxi drivers.

Really on the ball in the UK

Do you remember the tale of alibaba and his forty thieves?
Our forefathers framed it correctly.

They just left out the pedophilia, after all it was a children’s story

Now we’re at childhood’s end.

I was watching shows on the NY City mafia wars of the recent past pretty bloody.

So what happens now in the UK? A Hindu government gets elected and uses its police/military power to after Groomers, who are nearly all from Muslim countries (as far as I can tell). Nothing wrong with that, since Groomers are evil regardless of religion - but will the Muslims see it that way, or will they instead see it as an attack on Islam?

If the latter, I would expect some fireworks in London and other cities.

These rapists were safe because a lot of popular press kept quiet because they didn’t want to say the perpetrators are Pakistanis and a lot of the police force let their communities down because the UK is still a classist society and the police saw these girls as low-class slags.

These rapists were safe first, for the same reasons the late Sir Jimmy Saville OBE KCSG and Sir Cyril Smith MBE and many others unnamed were protected - because the upper echelons of government, civil service and the mainstream media are stuffed with pedophiles - and second as you point out that those some authorities put immigrants especially Pakistanis muslims above the law in many prospects, even murder.

Very true. And there are many Muslims in positions of power in the government, locally and nationally, that brought pressure to bear to keep things quiet.

When I lived there in the 90’s under Labour, the admin and “media” were banging the drum about “institutional racism”.
