I cannot verify it, but I’m pretty sure the basic Mac Hamburger has gotten smaller in the past two years.
The bun is about the same, but the burger itself seems to have shrunk. The price has not been reduced, of course.
I suspect ChatGPT had something to do with this. McDonalds found some positions could be eliminated with AI.
The stock market may be something to watch tomorrow.
They have trouble hiring people thanks to Biden's covid policies and they are paying $17/hour just to recruit entry level people. And they have massive price increases on their food in a declining economy.
Not good. Welcome to Bidenville.
I guess this is a safer way to fire people than doing so at the office. And laid off, no, lets be honest, fired. Very, very few people get re-hired. Laid off might sound better talking to mom or grandma, but these folks are being fired.
Went to Arby’s for our family’s every-other-month special visit. Asked for our normal - starting with a small soda combo for the wife. They say “we no longer have a small, only medium and large.” So I get the medium. And gee, what do you know - the medium cup today is what was a small cup last visit - including the S marking on the bottom. Both the drink and fries. Oh, the price went up a touch, too.
So if McDs went from 10/pound to 12/pound on the basic burgers, it would not surprise me.
I passed on ordering a $4.29 large fry today, at a Connecticut McD’s.
Maybe I caused the final
Decision to layoff— sorry folks.
Off the top of my head, I believe McD’s market cap and/or stock price is huge compared
To 5 yrs ago
Wtf w layoffs??
McDonald’s claims that their standard patty still weighs a tenth of a pound before cooking. If the fat percentage has increased, though, then the cooked patty would be smaller, and I think keeping them in steam drawers shrinks them a bit also.
I very seldom eat at McDonald’s, but the patties do look smaller than they used to.
Jim Carrey movie Fun With Dick and Jane had him get revenge on an Enron type corporation after the bosses screwed with everyone’s lives, jobs and income.
Like Office Space, one guy somewhere could be plotting now.
The fired staff will be able to collect their personal pictures and stuff in a kinkos box at the front gate ?
They remodeled the one in this town. Prices went up. Waiting for the kiosks to take over. What about the laid off Mexicans?
I think inflation is starting to spike again based on some recent price increases for food.
With the Uniparty financing the Replacement Americans pouring over the border, these jobs were expected to be full-time employment which is unsustainable.
The other issue is that once location is removed from the equation due to Pfascist lockdowns, and people order from anywhere, McDonald's can't compete. Their selling point was that it was cheap and convenient.
The price is so high relative to the price of hamburger I just cook my own. It isn’t worth it.
Their local operators shouldn’t have hired so many drug addicts.
We all know the real reasons why McDonald’s is “restructuring.”
The urban, ghetto ferals are destroying the stores.
McDonald’s should close all stores in the inner-cities and build smaller locations in suburban and rural areas.
And bring back the fries cooked in beef tallow.
We love McDonalds. Go in, order on your phone, plug in your laptop, log in their free wi-fi and have your order delivered to your table. Spend the afternoon on-line with unlimited free refills.
I use the app for McD, and noticed what you’re saying about a lot of items that have shrunken, and the price has not only not decreased but exploded. Not long ago a double cheeseburger was $1.49, and not long before that it was $.99. I’ve seen price creep go from $1.49 to $1.79, then $1.99, then $2.19, $2.49, $2.79, $2.99 and depending on location I’ve seen it at $3.19!!! The basic hamburger was $.89, then $1.29, $1.49 and now it’s $1.89, which was the price for the McDouble less than a year ago, and that’s almost $3.00 now!!!
Secretly shrinking burgers? I think that about the Filet O’Fish. They literally shrank the tortilla size at Taco Bell years ago. Old Mexican Pizza in the early 2000s was wider.
Now I wonder, is this all true or are we succumbing to the types of emanations the evil gray aliens sent into our skulls when we foolishly took off the tinfoil hats. (They were aluminum, anyway).🛸👽🤖🔫🍔
