On Thursday, Florida lawmakers filed a bill that would allow Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) to run for president without having to first resign from the governor’s office.
Current state law mandates that if DeSantis were to run for another office, he would have to resign from his current post in order to do so, as reported by the Epoch Times.
The bill, Senate Bill 7050, was filed at 6:08 p.m. just roughly thirty minutes after news broke that 45th President Donald Trump will be indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D).
The filing comes after Gov. DeSantis took a stand for President Trump against the unjustified indictment, taking to Twitter to decry the “anti-American’ nature of the political persecution.

“The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct,” he explained. “Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent.”
“Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda,” DeSantis added.
While DeSantis has yet to announce an official run for the presidency, many took his recent book tour as a shadow campaign as the Florida governor crisscrossed the country to tell conservative audiences about his model of leadership.
While the Florida legislature is getting ready to lay the groundwork for DeSantis to run for the Republican nomination, Trump’s indictment likely overshadows its importance.

Yep, the Bush/Rove Rhinos are behind him all the way. They will use him to loose the election and keep the money train on the tracks.
I like DeSantis and I think he has a excellent future but he has surrounded himself with the GOPe who do not share his interest or Americas.
Trump was wise to keep these deep staters out of his campaign (or he would never have won) but failed when he got to DC and picked them in his administration. They naturally knifed him in the back at every opportunity.
They will do the same to DeSantis. Anyone advising him to run is not his friend. A long and bloody campaign against Trump will not help him, Trump or the nation.
If he wins the nomination and looses the general election he will never be given a second chance.

That is the problem I have with him running. He is best where he is at...taking care of Florida. Whomever is telling him to run is giving bad advice.
He will not win even if he is nominated, then there will be TWO wrongs and no rights.
Call your state representative and your state senator and tell them what you think about this. Has to be done Monday because they’re going to vote on Tuesday.

That’s right. I feel like Ron DeSantis running for president right now, is like bait and switch. He just won his election for four more years as governor of Florida and now his britches are bigger and bigger every day and suddenly he’s gonna be president and ditch us. I don’t think people here are going to wanna say hey, I like that Ron DeSantis so much I’m gonna make him president.
Write in Trump if you have to.
I voted for DeSantis to be my governor as well, and he is not doing his job in my opinion. His eyes are on another prize. If he had continued to do a good job for Florida and looked at what the people needed and kept working as he contracted to do till the end of his term he probably would’ve been a shoo-in for president in 2028, but now he is ruining his career. He has. In my eyes, he has no future after this.

Yet Trump alone can't achieve anything. He'll need support from senators, house representatives, judges, and even state and local elected officials to push his agenda.
He's also old and would only have one term. So he'll need people he can pass the MAGA torch to.

Elections are not about the best candidate but about who did the best job of voter fraud. If we stop enough of their fraud we will win no matter what. No one votes for commies.
