I keep hearing that the DA has elevated a misdemeanor to a felony. How can a DA do that? Doesn’t the law itself define whether it’s a misdemeanor or a felony?

A relatively minor crime is tied to a series of events that it was a part of to make it a felony.
In this case, the DA (Dumb ASS) is using the payment of ‘hush money’ to create a federal crime of campaign finance laws by saying it was a undeclared contribution to Trump’s Presidential campaign...................
