June 14, 2022, is a day that will live in infamy for the elite establishment of the South Carolina Republican House Caucus.
It was on that night when the Republican primary totals came in that the caucus members began to panic.
Rob Harris, a devout follower of Jesus, an operating room nurse, a Constitutional conservative, and a political newcomer had defeated a sweet establishment darling with 24 years of experience, the chair of the powerful House Education Committee, 54%-46%.
Harris’s victory caused establishment eyebrows to raise.
But that wasn’t the only establishment upset.
April Comer, also a political novice from Anderson County, destroyed the incumbent establishment elite — and former chair of the House Ways and Means Committee — 60%-40%.
On the same day, another conservative newbie, Thomas Beach, beat the incumbent in his district, 50%-32%, in a three-person race.
Full-scale panic!
Could it be that the three-month-old Freedom Caucus had won races against the smarter, more well-funded elite establishment?
In July, the power brokers met. They needed a plan to destroy the Freedom Caucus.
On December 6, 2022, at the first Republican Caucus meeting of the new legislative session, the elite establishment executed step one of its plan to bring the Freedom Caucus to its knees.
At that meeting, they adopted a “never before” rule that House Republican Caucus members must sign an oath to “adhere, abide by and comply with” Rule No. 16, which says you will not campaign against any incumbent Republican representative who Is running for reelection.

We are not to challenge the oligarchs, for if we do, retribution will come down upon us, as we have seen.
Its the Senators that’s the problem-U.S. Senators-SC. Scott is no fighter and wants to leave to become POTUS. Linda is a heavyweight wuss. Both will be gone hopefully by ‘26. Who’s next in line: Nancy Mace. What’s- her-name running for POTUS will ‘settle’ for one of them once she finds we don’t like her.
What’s wrong with SC? Thought it was red.
The article is about the legislature. But the types are all the same. Go along, you get rewarded.
With everything, one must begin at the ground level and work up. I moved here from Eastern Washington and got involved in the Republican party here, the past couple. It surprised me that in many cases the Republicans here are far less conservative than the republicans in Washington. There has been an open fight between Trump, Tea Party, Grassroots Republicans, and the establishment here for the past two years. The state party even took Greenville County after that county voted for a MAGA leadership. So the fight continues. If “MAGA” crowd can win at the grassroots level maybe eventually there will be no more Grahams or Scotts.
I’ve been here almost 5 years, and I’m still trying to figure out SC politics. It seems the RINOs are deeply entrenched in contolling the SC GOP.
I think getting rid of open primaries would greatly help in being able to choose conservative candidates, unlike Miss Lindsey and Tim Scott (who voted on January 6th to accept the fraudulent November 2020 Presidential election.
Oh, South Carolina will reliably vote Republican, but Republican does not mean conservative. Even Freepers cannot agree on a definition of conservative.

Greenville RE-ORG had a few moments, I called out some people, they needed to be called out, too.
